Martin Scorsese to abandon feature films
So long Marty. You'll be missed.

Hollywood will no longer have your brilliance to snub.

Don't despair though. When you're ready to croak, they'll give you one of those F-U very much "lifetime achievement" Oscars.

Scorsese to abandon feature films

U.S. filmmaker Martin Scorsese says he plans to stop directing Hollywood blockbusters and focus on documentaries and short films.

Scorsese, director of such hit films as Raging Bull, Goodfellas and The Aviator, was one of the honoured guests at the Marrakech International Film Festival, which opened Friday and runs until Nov. 19.

The director, who turns 63 this week, says he is getting old and does not want to spend his time making the big pictures demanded by Hollywood studios.

4. He has made his mark with Hollywood-type films.

His documentaries are superb and very much under rated, and I am thankful he will continue with them. (Edit: See The Last Waltz and his recent Bob Dylan film) One day, I fully expect he will do one or more about the Coward's administration... much for Marty to work with there.

I do regret that it appears he will no longer work with DeNiro and Pesci. They were an unbelievable team, and we will always have films like Raging Bull and Goodfellas to view over and over again.

5. Good for him.
If his Dylan documentary was any indication, he will do marvelously.

6. He should just abandon Hollywood studios instead.
He's got to have money of his own to make movies if he wanted to. And they don't all have to be lavish and over the top.

I guess I'm reaching. Oh well. I'm sure his documentary work will be good, but I just love his movies and I don't want to see him stop making them.

7. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull were Hollywood films??
Marty just get 10 or 15 mil and make whatever the fuck you want...shit, Woody Allen makes a film every year for practically nothing...
