Why would anyone listen to Michael Savage?
I honestly don't understand it. Also, he has books and I don't know why anyone would buy his books.

Are there some people so moronic that they think what Michael Savage says makes sense and is right??

I have a friend who is a solid republican (mormon) and even he says he can't listen to Savage, because all Savage does is spew hate.

It's pathetic that a guy like Savage can have any kind of audience at all, no matter how small.

10. Savage attracts an audience for the commercials.
That's the only reason *ANY* nominally-"free" medium runs
*ANY* content.

3. He says what they are thinking.
"Liberals should be kicked out of the country."

"It's OK to torture Iraqis because they are worthless any way."

"France sucks."

He affirms their own internal hatred and makes it OK.

5. It's the undermining of intelligence, and the celebration of ignorance
And all one has to do is look at our nation to see how popular that is.

6. I listened to him once. Why?
Because it was one of the few radio stations I could get driving through South Dakota that wouldn't fade in and out. After a while we couldn't take it anymore and we turned the radio off. Shortly thereafter my husband vowed to get the CD player in the car fixed.

7. My husband has a VERY CATHOLIC friend
who I no longer consider a friend, he says he is disgusted with Bush, but LOVES Michael Savage. I freaked on him a few months ago: I yelled, "That man does nothing but call names, and spew hatred. YOu send your wife to Bosnia to see the Virgin Mary, and then listen to Michael Savage, who calls my husband and I evil, insane and traitors! You should be ashamed of yourself!!!" He was very sheepish, but I imagine he still listens to him regularly.

12. His listeners are morons
And of all the right wing talkers, he'll be the one that probably gets involved in a case of getting one of his listeners to shoot a politician or celebrity based on his hate speech.

13. Eddie...A Case Study
This happened last Passover. His name is Eddie...he's a cousin through marriage and a Sabra (native-born Israeli). I first met him in 1969 and helped him immigrate here in the 80's. Over the years I saw him go further and further right. When he first arrived he "liked Raygun"...and we all chuckled about it. He was, naturally, very pro-Israel (Likud) and in the 90's this pulled him further and further right as he first supported Netenyahu and then Sharon...and glamming onto the Rushbos and then Neil Boortz's who were also very Pro-Israel and threw in that racist, sexist angle that he could relate to. Savage took it to the next level.

While Rushbo uses a lot of code words, Savage just says it and doesn't care. He's Archie Bunker's crack baby and appeals to the macho dudes who are loaded with a life filled with racial, sexual and political frustration. In Eddie's case, his life is always in turmoil...and this only has drawn him closer to the Savages...it's an easy and daily way to seal off the reality. The sad thing is there are many other Savages on the dial...all playing on these same themes in different variations...be they Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt, Bet-A-Million Bill Bennett and the list is sadly too long to post.

Peace...

16. What's worse, I don't think he even means it.
I think his hatred and assholitude is all a pose, put on the for the big bucks.

I mean, he's definitely a hateful asshole, but he's cranking up his extremism for notoriety.

17. Unfortunately, millions of people do listen to him. And you can't
deny the fact that all of his hate-filled books have been best sellers.

What O'Reilly said this week has been bad, but believe me, if you listened to what Savage says on a daily basis, it's 1000 times worse. He should have been removed from the airwaves years ago.
