Alito admits being an activist judge (not kidding)
Alito put his personal opinion out there in 1985 when he sent a document to the Reagan administration, along with his application to become a deputy assistant attorney general, saying his previous government work had included helping "to advance legal positions in which I personally believe very strongly."

"I am particularly proud of my contributions in recent cases in which the government argued that racial and ethnic quotas should not be allowed and that the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion," wrote Alito, who was then working for the solicitor general's office.

"to advance legal positions in which I personally believe very strongly." THAT is the statement which Dem Senators should look at closely and question.

1. That was before he ever became a judge.
So, it isn't quite correct to say he's admitting to being an activist judge. The righties will say "he was a lawyer; he was supposed to argue an opinion then." etc.

2. True, they will say that. But it shows that he is unable to
remove his personal views from his decision making process on legal issues.

Conservatives know he will be an activist judge. That's why he was appointed.

They want activist judges.

4. You are right ComerPerro.
The Conservatives need him on the board of the Supremes so they can select our next repuke president. Hey, it worked before.

3. Yeah but did he have to say he personally supported their cause?
That's going above and beyond the requirements of being a good lawyer. His words: "I am particularly proud of my contributions in recent cases." and "To advance legal positions in which I personally believe very strongly."

He didn't have to say that but he did. Why? Because it is his opinions and there is no indication that those opinions have changed.
