3. We've had them here every November.
Since I moved here, anyway.

There was a system that came through this area in November 2002 that spawned quite a few, some of them deadly.

15. I stayed outside filming a storm last spring
until my tripod went flying off the porch (luckily my camera wasn't attached to it)

I got the message.

I finished filming from my doorway.

I'm from Vermont, we don't get storms like these.
I love lightning and I've seen some awesome shots taken by storm chasers.

23. I'm trying to find the page
on NOAA that showed that this type of weather isn't uncommon in November but I can't - argh.

I knew I should have bookmarked it.

28. No, yours is better.
What a night that was.

Stupid local weatherman was practically peeing his pants every time they would mark off another one on the ground.

Then the power kept going off.

First time I was sorry I didn't drink or smoke anymore.

32. Not really.
You're just having Michigan weather. We've had strong winds for two days in a row just lately, and tonight sleet. In sheets.

It's just a particularly icky fall. I hate weather like this.

This weather is like a bag of cat sick.

9. Holy shit!
I love trying to capture storm footage but that guy has something wrong with him.

He's lucky it was a little one and short lived, can you imagine if it had been say, an F3 that was 1/2 mile wide?

8. do what I do
I got hit by a F2/F3 tornado. I have a yellow weather radio near the bed with an alarm. If the weather is questionable before I go to bed then the radio is on.

Yeah I wake up everytime it beeps to make sure. Make sure your purchase one if you don't have one already.

10. Thanks, bought one last spring.
Living without one was nerve wrecking.

You'd be watching the radar and they'd be showing all the areas around you where the wind shear indicated tornadoes were forming and then the power would go off.

We have already had a brownout. :eyes: I really hate this weather. 80 degrees one day, 42 degrees the next. Remember, there is NO global warning, all this odd weather is just G-d's wacky humor! :eyes:

Tornadoes are fun and exciting for the first one or two months in the spring, but they get old in a hurry.

We only had high winds here and I thought it was safe.

I was up until 7am after that.

I call it Okla-HELL-ma! No offense to those who love this state, but it is my temporary home until I can get enough cash to flee!

It is thundering and lighting here. The air pressure is changing rapidly (my ears keep popping). I am just hoping it doesn't knock out the power, as I am late night person and I don't want to lose power!

30. Not alone.
My partner is all tucked into bed. The cat is sleeping on the cable box, and all the birds are sleeping. Although, the hamsters are waking up. We have a tornado siren right outside the master bedroom (seriously, it is 20 yards away...so when it sounds it is HEARD!). The rain has stopped and the thunder has slowed, so I think it is passing on by, but in OK, one can never tell!

If we get blown away, I hope I go over the rainbow, because I am spoiling for a fight and the Wicked Witch of the West hasn't met the Wicked Witch of Oklahoma! (Although not really wicked, I am a witch!)

33. Over the rainbow!
Lookout Dorothy and Glenda!

The sirens are too far away from me to hear them if the weather is bad.
I doubt we'll get much tonight, but they did just say on the radio that we're going to get round two tomorrow afternoon.

But I'm throwing in the towel, I'll put my trust in NOAA.

G'night!

Hey.

What's a nice jewish boy like you doing in Oklahoma?

I just want my own army of flying monkeys!!! "FLY MY PRETTIES!!" "BRING ME BACK GEORGE CLOONEY!" (Fuck those nasty red clogs...I am barefooting it!) I have been practicing. I have other names on the list too! :)

Dorothy best be stepping right, or she will go back to the field of poppies and there won't be any snow this time! And, Glenda, well, as long as she gives up that crown, we're cool!

It looks the weather here has calmed. I hope it has in your neck of the woods too.

As for a good Jewish boy being in Oklahoma...well, all I can guess is that in a former life I was one evil prick, so now I am paying the Karmic price! A job brought me here, now I am without a job and can't get out. At least I got a kick-ass partner who is convinced that I hung the moon! Gotta love that!

Hope you sleep well and your night is uneventful!
