My RW neighbor is very nervous tonight. Works for Georgia Pacific
which is in the process of being acquired by Koch Industries, one of the most corrupt criminal and powerful companies in the USA. They have a long history of corruption and huge donations to and benefits from the GOP. Here's one example:
http://www.publicintegrity.org/oil/report.aspx?aid=347

So my neighbor is beginning to wonder if he might have been wrong all these last 5 years having fluffed Bush .. I tried to tell him but he never thought about any issue except gun control, he totally hates Dems because he thinks they want to take away his guns. And the fact that I have many guns and I'm not worried never seemed to register so he voted for Chimp on that issue almost exclusively.

I know a lot more about Koch than what's in the above link, they actually screwed my mother out of thousands of dollars by 'short-sheeting' the amounts of oil they supposedly trucked from her small royalty-producing leases (that my dad and I both worked our asses off to make functional over 30 years.)

I had to REALLY bite my tongue to not say "I told you so."

1. That had to be hard. But maybe you can leverage this. Instead of "I told
you so" see if you can get you neighbor to bring a few more into the light.

6. I won't EVEN gloat though I'm tempted to. This guy is just a typical Okie
not very bright but he has worked his ass off for GP for 20 years and I don't want him to be victimized by these bastards. I know their history and I truly believe they want to gut the company, sell off the assets and customer base to some offshore outfit and pocket the largesse.

5. You're a far better person that I am
Because I would have had to draw blood not to scream in his monkey face "I TOLD YOU SO, YOU SELFISH PRICK!!!" And I hate the sight of my own blood, so the neighbor would have wound up with heavily steamed glasses.

14. I have a friend like that
always bragging on some fucking clown Republican. Makes me sick. I regularly give him vicious e-mail beat down. A few times he's apologized to me. Once for the Iraq War when it first started going bad and the WMD were nowhere in sight. A few times he's apologized for supporting Bush and other pukes in Congress. We had a few heated battles on the phone, almost to the point of getting ready to fistfight. It got bad. I never need to say I told you so, because whenever something happens that I told him would happen, he feels so shitty about it he always has to apologize. I slightly gloat though. :)

7. I just shot somebody that's how many guns I own!!!!!!
Ok, I don't own one. But, someday I will!

The Kochs are big on ripping off Indian reservations for fun and for oil. That I am an Indian only pisses me off more.

So about that gun.....

17. I'm probably one of 323 people in Oklahoma who do NOT claim to be
'part Indian' as they say it...but by God I think a hell of a lot of the Native Americans I've known around here. Sure, there are some bad apples just like any group but it pisses me off when somebody comes up with a wholesale condemnation of them.

33. Well, I'm of German descent (duh...from my name) and I happen to think
the Native Americans, even though they may have 'inherited' the land from someone else a very long time ago, were essentially robbed of their territory. I'm not quite ready to assume direct responsibility (I think some of my ancestors were Nazis too) but I sure have no problem cutting them a lot of slack when it comes to the miniscule demands they've made vis a vis reasonable parcels of property, gaming rights (what the hell ELSE do they have?) and full "citizenship." For sure, I'm not proud of what my forebears did to them.

8. Just express your anger at how corps treat working people.
Delphi, United... enron, of course.

Tell 'im how the laws have been changed to allow corps to renege on pensions. the deal is off - you work your ass off for a company for years and...

well, this is what unions are for.

10. It's just this kind of story ...
... that is going to be the death knell of this administration, and everyone connected with it. And, unfortunately, it's a story that is going to be told all over the country during the coming 'Winter of Our Discontent'.

The details will change -- people losing jobs, losing their savings, losing their prescription coverage; people who can't afford to gas-up to go to work, or heat their homes sufficiently because of the cost --but the bottom line will be the same: "Bush fucked me."

Yes, we told them so. But unfortunately for them, and for the country, words of warning weren't enough. Many Americans are going to have to pay the price for not listening, and it's not going to be pretty for any of us.

23. I guess that's why I don't care to pre-emptively gloat
this guy is a neighbor yet he's also more a friend than not, even though we disagree on most political issues (maybe not so much right now) we have a fairly stable rapport.

30. And that friendship will mean a lot to him in the days to come ...
While I admit that I ABSOLUTELY DELIGHT in the inevitable demise of this Administration and all it stands for, I think we should ALL remember that most of the people who voted for these idiots did it because they'd been duped into believing all of the bogus PR. Let's keep in mind, folks, that the average Republican voter is not the enemy.

What will truly bring BU$HCO down in the months to come will not be the anger of we Dems, who were on to them all along. It will be the UTTER OUTRAGE of the people who truly believed their lies, and are now beginning to realize they've been HAD!

If you think YOU'RE pissed-off, imagine how pissed-off THEY ARE!

22. Better Tell That Neighbor to start thinking outside the box 'cause
apparently the corporate philosophy rewards it(see below - from your link). Ummmm....how about a soup and deep-fried (in oil) "sawdust fiber-filled" bratwurst and all natural bread line for the displaced GP workers, and a brand new outsourcing security agency (so he doesn't have to sell, pawn, etc...his guns when his job gets drilled)to guard the newly enhanced corporate offices- Ads could read HIRED GUNS NEEDED for NEW HOT IDEA! Oh, toxic tummy need drugs now-GOP has that too!

"Charles and David Koch practice an economic philosophy at the company dubbed market-based management, which is based on the premise that societies which encourage entrepreneurship and individual responsibility will create vast wealth.

The brothers have made no secret that they feel such principles should be adopted by government and society at large, and have spent millions of dollars of their money to help make it happen.
