serious question... only 6% hate Bush?
This seems a little low to me, and not just because I spend so much time on DU. Bush is such a polarizing figure, and the reasons for his low approval (totally failing re Katrina, starting a war on false pretenses, etc) are so horrendous that I would have expected far, far more than 10% of the people who disapprove of him (60% of those polled) to actively loathe him.

On the other hand, maybe it's telling that the question was asked at all. I don't remember seeing polling data on how many people hate Bush, or any other president, before.

5. I USED to just hate the posiitons and policies - but

now have escalated to hatred of him. Never happened with Nixon or Reagan - most of all I hate him for making me bridge the gap between policies and the person promulagating them.It is scary how "personal" this has become -- he COULD stop the desecration of our constitution and the degradation of our environment and civil liberties -- but he chooses not to. HIS choice and his alone are now responsible after 5 horrendous years.

3. Well, I probably wouldn't admit to hating him either.
Even if I do feel something like very extreme dislike, the whole notion of hatred makes me uncomfortable. Anyway, he's just a twit, and Cheney's the monster that running everything.

4. Not clear whether it's still legal anymore to say you hate the cockroach
Practically anything can be taken as threat. Besides, most people consider it to be taboo to admit to hatred or lust or envy or avarice or . . .
