Tomorrow the offensive begins!
Drudge reports:

Vice President Cheney telling House GOP leaders: Bush admin getting ready to go on a public relations offensive, attempt to recast debate on Niger, WMDs, including bringing back Mary Matalin for spin control... Developing...

Yeah, I know he's a right-winger, but he's also something of a conduit into the Repubs. Just a heads up!

1. Well, they better get their stories straight
Otherwise, they'll just dig themselves deeper in the hole they're already in

2. This has already gone beyond Niger.
Tomorrow is going to be too late. The Bush junta is very soon going to be in a position of saying, "OK America, we lied about absolutely everything. Saddam was not a threat, the sanctions and inspections worked to peacably disarm him. BUT you can't blame us because of ."

Either that or they declare martial law and shut down all the newspapers. I'd give it a 50-50 shot.

5. They're going to make a Federal case out of it?
Oh No! Imagine the plublicity. Most sheeple probably don't even know anything about Yellowcake....but they soon will if the WH gets it out to them.

Wonder how long the Captain will stay with the sinking ship? The USS Junk Politics is going down.

These are .....the good old days...

6. Then "Bring 'Em On" Dickie Baby, Yeah...Big Time!
Just attacking the messenger is not going to go anywhere.

Facts are very stubborn things, Dickie Baby.

You want to launch an "offensive"....

Then "bring 'em on"...yeah..."big time".

7. I just heard on Mike Malloy's show that...
there are already calls for Dick Cheney to resign. Looks like the cat's really out of the bag.

8. I thought things were too quite today
about news from the White House. No statements, no chimp sightings, no Rice, Chenney, or Rumsfeld. Wondered what they were up to!

B-)

10. They Are Not Nimble
It's too late for them to do significant damage control. They can try to fudge the issue somewhat by developing the idea that Saddam was indeed shopping for uranium somewhere in Africa. Bush is still popular with the people who don't stay up on the news very much. The plan is to ride it out.

However ... the war isn't going well, and now it's obvious that it could have been avoided. People don't have to follow a long tedious argument to understand what it is that Bush did wrong. He wanted a war and he stretched the truth to get one.

And ... just wait till the troops start coming home. They can't keep them in Iraq forever. And what tales of abuse they will tell!

11. LOL bringing Matalin back will only communicate to the public
that they are scared! The more THEY address it, the more coverage it gets, the deeper the hole they dig. What I NOW want to see is another lie unfold or the ratchet turned up even higher on their lack of post war plans or LACK of a plan to guard NUKE facilities but provide cover for oil wells..the Dems MUST GIVE IT TO THEM FROM more directions than they can handle...also TURN THE HEAT UP on North Korea!!! How is it we knew Saddam had nukes but have missed every signal on NORTH KOREA???

They must throw more shit at them than Karl can manage if they want momentum to build...we need a new LEAK!!!

12. How can they go on the offensive if they're behind the eight ball?
They have a lot o' 'splainin' to do lucy.

There have been so many conflicting stories and actions about the scandal by every one of the top seniors in Bushco for the past year that I don't see how they can refute the overwhelming evidence.

But if anybody can, they can. Well I'm going to stand by and watch with my arms folded. But I think it's wayyy to late for a comeback.

13. They've never STOPPED being on the offensive
Not to mention being offensive, period. You don't rack up record deficits, rape social programs, give your cronies massive tax cuts, shit all over the economy, and use the Constitution as a rib bib by sitting on your laurels.
