"Rediscovered" testimony from CIA Director: Intel Manipulated!
CIA director in 2001 suggests manipulation of pre-war intelligence
Jason Leopold

President George W. Bush’s attempt Friday to silence critics who say his administration manipulated prewar intelligence on Iraq is undercut by congressional testimony given in February 2001 by former CIA Director George Tenet, who said that Iraq posed no immediate threat to the United States or other countries in the Middle East, RAW STORY has found.

Details of Tenet’s testimony have not been reported before.

“The CIA’s unclassified statement at the time was that the reporting was ‘credible,’ a statement the Administration used repeatedly,” he said. “What the Administration omitted was the second half of the CIA statement: that the source was not in a position to know whether any training had taken place.”

Levin’s office said the senator is going to provide the committee investigating prewar intelligence with reports from experts who warned officials in the Bush administration before the Iraq war that
intelligence reports showing Iraq was stockpiling chemical and biological weapons were unreliable.

1. So, if Tenet testified in front of the Senate...
Then why haven't ANY Senators been saying all along that the intel was manipulated by the Admin?

Am I missing something here?

2. This administration and its supporters just don't care.
They lied, they know we know they lied, and they will keep trying to avoid any inconveniences associated with that. Their supporters will give rabidly blind support to their efforts. None of them care about the duplicity and the treasons committed by these people who are ruining our democracy and destabilizing the rest of the world.

8. Thank you.
No matter how many hoops we jump through trying to bring out the truth there are many who just don't care about the truth. Thank God not all of the American people are of the "can be fooled all of the time" variety.

George has stated that his "political philosophy" is to focus on those who can be fooled all of the time. This was in Pete Peterson's book "Running On Empty".

Didn't Churchill say that the American people will eventually do the right thing...after they have tried everything else? I hope he is right.

13. Those lies are an abuse of federal agencies and basis for impeachment
Accountability in the case of the obvious lies becomes an unavoidable necessity. Bush is in LBJ's position as of 1967...and so is the entire country. Either he can do the honorable thing, as Nixon did by resigning, or he can put the entire credibility of the Republican party (and both houses of Congress) up for scrutiny (and found lacking).

The erosion of the Republican 'hijackers' power is going to be painful to watch...but Bush is making it happen. The truth and the Constitution will out !

6. wonder if this has anything to do with this article
However, such caveats as “may” and “probably” were removed from intelligence reports by key members of the Bush administration immediately after 9/11 when discussing Iraq.

7. Rediscovered Testimony?
I am not sure how testimony appears all of a sudden. Was the file under
B for Bullshit instead of L for Liar?

12. Well... it was never 'undiscovered' to begin with...
The CIA, Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Dick Cheney, and a handful of others all did state in early 2001 that, 'Iraq is not a threat'.

I've often wondered about this, especially in the light of the PNAC doctrine.

9. Add that with the State dept's list of countries tied to Al-queda...
and it's quite clear, to anyone with an open mind, that they intentionally lied.
The list, post 9/11, didn't include Iraq.
