Denver station drops O'Reilly

KHOW chooses new talk-show program

Conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck takes to the air on KHOW 630 AM on Monday, replacing Bill O'Reilly. Beck, whose show is headquartered in Philadelphia, will be on KHOW noon to 3 p.m. weekdays.

KHOW announced in September that it would drop O'Reilly's show because of poor ratings. "We had given the producers a 90-day notice and we're at the end of the 90 days," program director Jerry Bell said in announcing the change on Thursday.

7. Obviously, radio stations haven't learned that people are
T-I-R-E-D of hearing from only one side.

It looks like, with all the conservative shows out there, that someone would get the bright idea to offer some liberal viewpoints.

I know there's AAR, but, it's not available in my area except via satellite radio (which I can't afford). We have at least four conservative radio stations here - it's like no one thinks that there are liberals in this city, even though the CITY (not the county) goes blue. Go figure.

12. well, this is why O'Reilly
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 12:36 PM by stanwyck
made such outrageously inane statements. He got press. He grabbed the spotlight...which he needs. He's a reverse vampire. He needs light shining on him to survive.
Being a rightwing hate-talker these days is competitive. Everybody wanted one. So, each radio station/TV station/newspaper went out and got their pet crazy talker. The loonier the better. Get the juices flowing. Coulter has made a career out of saying nothing more than wild-eyed accusations and spittle flying lies.
O'Reilly was desperate. He knew his numbers were dwindling. So, he went all King Kong and started flailing about..hoping to grab the headlines. And he did.
But, you know, it's fun watching them all claw and scratch each other for the same brain-dead audience. Only so many freepers with enough Kool-Aid in their system to stomach these guys. And they can't sustain these leeches anymore.
It's rightwing hatetalker smackdown time.

3. What? O'Reilly has low ratings????
They've got to be kidding! He's a GOD! He's always on the money! Those owners must be Liberal scumbag RATS!! They're trying to silence the voice of reason! :sarcasm:

I've listened to Glenn Beck all of ONCE. It took a lot of intestinal fortitude to get to 5 minutes before changing the channel.

8. I'm glad we don't have to hear that slimey fuck anymore....

Ya know what? I think we should call for a terrorist attack on Bill O'Reilly. j/k ;) If he can call for a terrorist attack on a whole city why can't we appeal to the same religious nuts to mount a terrorist attack on O'Lielly?

I for one am all for the whole bury, neck, honey, fire ants kind of thing. Just because I would love to her him scream like a little girl. No offense to all the little girls on DU ;).

10. Alan Berg....denver be damned
it's been 20 years since the nazipoos murdered Alan....denver obviously didn't deserve him, as they rewarded the murderers by turning talk radio into a nazipoo madhouse (just like JFK's killers got nothing but rewards ever since)
the usa was/is all talk, no action

16. Then Denver radio got rid of Andrea VanSteenhouse and Reggie Rivers.
Andrea is much better and far more qualified than her "replacement", that hag Dr. Laura. And Reggie Rivers, even if you don't always agree with him, you can't disagree with his logic and and know his conclusions are guided by his integrity.

Thank God for am 760. Although it can be hard to get sometimes.
