A Question : Did White House withhold intelligence from Senators?
The White House says that Senators saw the same "intelligence" as the White House. That may be true that they saw the same intelligence but did they cherry-pick and withhold the intelligence that did not prove their case for war? Did they only give the Senate that intelligence that promoted their war of choice? If they did withhold intelligence, is that illegal?

1. Congress is not supposed to get the same intel. as the WH and it didn't
However, the WH isn't supposed to cherry pick it and then give that to Congress either.

6. I don't think that's accurate
Members of the Senate Intel committees are usually privvy to the same information as the WH.

2. Then there's the 92 Senators who did not
have the secruity clearance to hear all the cherry picked info.

They have to rely on the 8 guys the malAdministration does talk to for crumbs.

3. If it was submitted to Congress and
If valuable information was withheld from Congress when the President asked for War Powers, it will be a problem, a big problem. Now trying to get a Republican Congress to conduct an investigation, now that is the hard part...

4. Well, technically, it was probably the Old Executive Office Building

If we say WH it over-specifies the problem.

Besides the Senate got the best intelligence the administration could provide.

5. Sounds like Groundhog Day
The same facts keep getting ignored and rehashed with a different spin each time.

Its already been established that the WH did not give Senate Dems the intel information they needed. Senate Dems received security briefings separate from Senate Republicans.

We knew that at the time it was happening, the Senate Dems even discussed it themselves.

8. McCain's backing the WH. He says those who insist Bush lied about Iraq
intelligence "are liars".

11. Excellent
Anyone who attempts to defend Bush will end up being labeled a liar also.

9. This maybe the wrong question anyway
Even if the intelligence saying there were very likely WMD WAS 100% the best information available before the vote in Oct, before the March 2003 invasion inspectores were in and there was far better information on WMD - at this point, there was NO JUSTIFICATION for war and Democrats, like Kerry, were strongly publicly urging Bush to let the inspectors work. (There were some Democrats, like Edwards still in favor of invading, but I don't think this was the norm.)
