I find the said facts strange... maybe some of you can enlighten me.
Allegedly she tried to set off her bomb first - and when it did not go off - her husband asked her to leave the room. Why would he do that? Why did they not set off the bombs at the same time as one would expect? Why would she try and set her own bomb off first?
It does not really make sense.
Why is she wearing the bomb on TV? Don't you think they would get the thing off of her before lining up the press for photo ops?
The question is - who benefits from linking al-Queda in Iraq? Who benefits from a terrorist attack in Lebanon?
It does nothing positive for Iraq or the insurgent movement. Hitting on your neighbours is not the best way to make a statement. If anything the act is detrimental and could possibly affect funding for the Iraqi resistance.
It puts more pressure on Syria's doorstep - I am waiting for the link to Bashar al-Assad, Syria's president to come next... Good for the US and Israel.
It firmly ties al-Queda and Iraq - which provides more fuel for Bush's, "Iraq is the front on the War on Terror" spin and settles into the Saddam=al-Queda meme quite nicely for the morans.
I know there are terrorists - don't get me wrong. I do think that 'al-Queda' - or whatever you want to call a large group of pissed off militant Muslims who despise the West, exists... and they are aiming at western interests in order to halt the violent form of 'democratization' that the US is pounding on the region.
This Jordan issue just seems to be dominating CNN International in Europe - over and over and over and over - for days and days and days....
Iraq tragedies never even get coverage. It's disgusting.
