10. wow!

I heard about this CNN footage and wondered if Bell had referenced it.

Bell has guts like few US cartoonists. (Rall, Danziger, CONRAD and few others)

13. you are quite correct

they are not MEANT to be humorous.

they are political. they are honest. they are provacative. they are essential when the press is cowed.

19. a good political cartoon can get across more in a single frame ...
... than a whole page of outraged editorials.

And given that, these days, most people don't actually read the editorial page ... brave cartoonists like Bell, Rall, Toles, and the others whose work is regularly showcased in Nostamj's excellent compilations may be our best bet for hardhitting analysis.

Check out the DU Meeting Room, anyone who hasn't already done so -- also, it's interesting that all the recent collections posted at cagle.slate.msn.com , such as "White House Lies"
http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/Iraq-LIES/main.asp
"Bring 'Em On!"
http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/Bring-Em-On/main.asp
and "Quagmire in Iraq"
http://cagle.slate.msn.com/news/Iraq-Quagmire/main.asp

have been drumming relentlessly at Bush -- even papers which are pro-administration have published critical cartoons (though they would probably not dare to write anything scathing).

11. It's easy! I learned.
Edited on Wed Jul-16-03 09:24 PM by zidzi
You right click on the image and up comes the "box" and you click on "properties" and then comes the "url" which you right click on "select all" and then you "copy it" and it's on your clipboard and you bring it over to DU2 and you right click again and "paste it".

Was that clear enough?

17. Try this see if it helps.
Put your cursor on the image you want to copy over to DU and right click. On the drop down list, click on "Properties," as part of the Properties of the image you will see a URL. This is the URL for the image e.g. http://www.something.something.etc.

Put your cursor on top of the URL and right click again. Click on "select all" and the URL will then be highlighted in blue. Right click one more time and select "Copy"

Go to your DU message window where you create your message, and place your cursor inside the message window and right click, select "Paste" from the drop down list. The URL will then be pasted into the DU message window. When you select "preview" or "post," to post your message you will then see the actual image in place of the URL. The DU software is configured so that anytime you post a URL to an image file like a file ending in a .jpg extension, it automatically displays the image instead of the URL.

Hope this helps.
