Excellent Pictures of Camp Casey.
Edited on Wed Nov-09-05 05:54 PM by brainshrub
As many of you know, I spent two-and-a half weeks in a ditch this past Summer. I finally got around to editing, describing and uploading the pictures I took.

This hypertext will bring you to the blog which introduces the collection; Then follow the link from that page to access the formal thumbnail album. (All thumbnails on Brainshrub.com can be clicked to see the full-sized image.)

Here's a small sample:

I didn't get to see much of Cindy Sheehan. I was to busy meeting people, cleaning, driving the shuttle, working security, updating my blog or helping folks find parking.

The one time I got a moment to say hi to Cindy, I asked her to pose for this picture.
:D

This metallic sign-post at Camp Casey One, best represents the ultimate reason we Ashevillians decided to stand with Cindy Sheehan.

1862 was the number of US soldiers who have been killed by the Bush Administration in Iraq as of August 19, 2005.
;(

I'm sure you've read about the Republicans who decided to counter-protest Cindy Sheehan. They set up across from Camp Casey One.

This guy supports the war in Iraq, but he didn't want me to include his face or name for my blog, which is why I had to PhotoShop this picture.

Typical chicken-hawk. Brave enough to complain about peace activists, but to cowardly to fight or lend his name for the record as someone who supports war.

Please note the large space at the bottom of his poster: I think it's blank because this guy must know, on some level, that there is no Bush plan for a strong, safe USA.

By the way: The conservative was unable to explain how troops in Iraq make America any safer.

16. Exactly, and its an emotionally charged issue... the only problem
I may have is that I thought he was maybe DUI. I have very strong opinions on drinking and driving. The issue is seperate IMHO, though.

7. Thanks for all you did out there. I met you really quickly...
You were riding shotgun in a shuttle with your laptop on and in a hurry (all shuttles coming into Camp 2 were though, lol ) . I was there the weekend when Cindy was gone but Joan Baez and Steve Earle came. Going out there and camping in the ditch for 3 days was probably the most emotional life experience I've ever had (except for deaths and births).

I still dream about it at least once or twice a week... the people I met, the things I heard, the tears that were shed, the heat, the community. The memory more than lingers.

As more and more wake up to Cindys pleas and realize that there is no noble cause and that there never can be with such a war and that is why Iraq will never stabilize as long as we are there, the more who come to know this the closer we get to ending this damn farce.

Thanks again Brainshrub.

10. Its funny that a Bush Pro War supporter would hide his face

When those who protesting have much more to loose from the attacks we get from these thugs. What the hell is he afriad of. Freakin coward like his chickenhawk leader.

14. Yup, and I have video-footage of chicken-hawks explaining their cowardice.
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 05:07 PM by brainshrub
Hopefully, by the end of the year I'll have it up on the site.

I'm waiting for a particular group of chicken-hawks to do something public, so when the media spot-light is on them, It will magnify the effect.

When you see the footage, it will floor you!
