The soldiers are calling in "Willy Pete" = White Phosphrous connection to these particular bodies produced by Italians? is not known. " . . . burnt flesh, but un-burned clothing . . . " is problematic to say the least.

11. The way it has been described sounds more like:

using canisters of WP with time-delay fuses. "Shake and Bake," was the term I have heard - they burn insurgents out of bunkers and spider holes and then use HE to finish them off when visible.

Interesting about the clothes - does this mean for certain that WP was used? I have heard that WP ignites more fiercely when water is present, but this does not necessarily mean that incendiary WP will not burn anything else.

I have seen WP burn lots of other stuff, firsthand. Tents, uniforms, and, of course FLESH and LUNGS (the latter two having a lot of H2O). Incredibly HATEFUL stuff when misused, but also an incredibly useful CHEMICAL when used in tracers, illumination rounds, para-flares, etc. Good in anti-tank ammo, apparently, though I have not seen it used as such.

The photos of bodies from Fallujah show intact clothing and arabic-style prayer beads and jewellry........but horribly, horribly burned bodies, mostly of women and children and what appear to be old men.

It is a war crime.

Those weapons have been banned by everyone except the US. It's more than slightly hypocritical to lecture everyone else about their rights and responsibilities when you are engaging in what amounts to genocide on a people who have not attacked you and could not do the US harm.
