I love election night. I've been manning the tote board for about 15 years now at our local headquarters and the excitement, anticipation and nervousness never diminishes no matter how many times you do it.
The poll in NJ close at 8 pm - and then we wait, maybe a half hour or so until the first runner shows up with papers in his hand and whispersand shows them to me and I write them up on the board, district by district, in black marking pen. Of course, we know what we should be doing in each district to win and the room always goes dead silent before the first results are posted. Cheers for some districts, boos for others.
But I have a feeling tonight there will be a lot of cheers. Catch you later with the results for Dumont, New Jersey.
