Is there a Randi/Al feud going on?
I enjoy both -- but prefer Al. I've tuned into Randi a few times and have caught her making a couple of snide remarks about Al. Did I miss something?

1. It's been going on for a while
Randi is really a primadonna, she thinks she's THE VOICE of AAR.

24. She may be the voice, but Al is the name recognition
and his being on AAR helped them I'm sure.

I am grateful to him for his help in getting them launched.

talkers many times.

I don't get it actually.

edit to add - I don't like it. I certainly don't think it helps her. It actually makes her look bad IMO.

4. Honestly, Randi gets on my nerves. I used to listen faithfully, but

I finally got tired of the snide remarks and disrespectful attitude toward callers. Just my opinion.

18. Agreed- been listening to Randi about 2 years now...
and have noticed her not talking over people so much for a while now. I love Randi. To me she IS the voice of AAR. Seconded by Marc Maron.

What HAS pissed me off is her silence about Maron being dropped. I hope they've talked privately about it-if not, Maron must be heart-broken.

-or did I miss her talk on air? please!?

5. I just heard her praise Al Franken. It was about AFRTS or
whatever it is called today. It was something like why would anyone want to listen to a calm, reasoned human being when they could listen to a anal cyst infective, drug addled, hate mongering POS like Rush. She was being sarcastic.

I consider that not a slam against Franken, but the idiots that think Rush is the only talk show host that should be broadcast on the military radio.

6. Al is far to scripted - While the Shit hits the fan, he is on script..
The last Friday, while the inditments were being annonced, he was doind some bit about something that was totally out there...

I like my talk radio to be about the events of today, not 3 days ago.

9. I prefer Al, but I listen to them both
I do think they both have egos far too large. But, what talk radio star doesn't (except the wonderful Rachel Maddow). I think it's kinda pathetic that Randi says rude things about Al and his show while she is on the air. But, she does have to fill 4 hours. Other people on AAR have said that Al doesn't interact with them. If he wants to be a Wellstonelike dem he should be less egotistical. Just my opinoin. But, I'm still glad I can hear AAR.

11. She's not a talk show though.
She's a three hour oratory. Was refreshing when I first heard her during the election. But now she's her biggest fan.

30 minutes of commercials, 25 minutes of her and 5 minutes of people who could make the show interesting.

12. I'll take Randi over Al Franken ANYDAY...
He kisses too much conservative arse for my taste...he leans way too far right. I totally stopped listening to his show. He hems and haws and takes 15 minutes to make a single point. I know 5th graders who could make a coherent statement faster than he can.

But, he does have his fans.

I love Mike malloy, too. I really wish AAR would bring Malloy to NYC and give him Al's time slot and give Al some other time maybe give him Mark Moran's morning hour or something.

16. My favorites are
Stephanie Miller (not AAR I know), Al, Rhandi, Majority Report, Mike. I mostly listen to them. I don't always listen to Rhandi but I enjoy her from time to time and I enjoy Al. I miss Katherine on there though. He needs a co-host I think.

13. Problem with Franken is
that he is so BORING. Jeez I fall asleep listening to his show. WHY is he popular as a radio host? Jesus boringness jones. And his show on sundance - man, his studio doesn't look anything like a radio station, it looks as boring as he is.

That's how boring he is.

I love Al. I happen to think he's funny.

14. Yes and it's BOOOOORRRRRIIIING
Keep your work beef to yourself (especially Randi).

I hate it when talk radio people start to believe that everyone listening knows or cares what it going on in their personal life, work life, emails, hate mail...

NO ONE CARES.

Ed Shultz is the perfect example. Dude spends like half his show talking about himself.

As if Randi does'nt do the same thing... I've heard her bitch about personal finances (how she went into debt moving to New York for AAR), the size of her cleavage, and other mundane topics. Most hosts, and probably all in the long format(3+ hours), talk about themselves to some extent.

21. totally agree
but some just go off into other realms of self indulgence.

Al just does it as a joke really.

Randi does it even though she doesn't need to.

And Ed does it as a staple to his program.

26. Randi is a queen, or she thinks she is.
I'll listen to her sometimes, but she is absolutely horrible with callers and guests. She walks all over them. I remember one time Conyers was a guest and he couldn't get a word in edgewise. Randi kept putting words in his mouth. She babbled on and on and on. Poor Rep. Conyers could only agree with her before she go off on another tirade. Shamelessly unprofessional.
