Just a few.

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzalez, Libby, Sanchez, Miller, etc.,etc., etc.

They have spoiled the whole damn barrel!

4. It's more than the Political Head
The whole damn war machine is corrupt and diseased. When 100,000 innocents have been killed, that is not just the work of a few political masters.

After World War II, the defense of the lower ranking Nazi's was "I was only following orders" yet we rejected that defense and held those who pulled the triggers, who pulled the levers and gassed millions, accountable. It's not been that long where we heard about another low ranking Nazi who was tracked down and held accountable by the world.

However, for some reason, we don't blame the person committing the act if they wear an American Uniform. With the obvious and well publicized exception of Abu Ghraib, who were punished for the crime of getting caught by their Military Puppet Masters, we haven't seen anyone charged with Crimes against Humanity.

We hear that Saddam operated Torture Rooms, yet have seen no evidence to support that. If true, it's the one true thing that we were told about this war by the Bush Regime. On the other hand, it's entirely probable that it like the rest of the reasons for war may be a lie. In the mean time, we are operating far more torture rooms than Saddam supposedly had, in more places, with far more victims.

We blame Bush, as Bush blamed Saddam. Yet we don't demand that those who participated in the activity be charged with crimes against humanity in the international court of justice. No, we are more afraid of upsetting those who won't ever vote for our leaders anyway by appearing not to be supportive of the (Storm) Troops.

http://hrw.org/campaigns/torture.htm shows clearly that the US Military has an ongoing and system wide policy of torture and abuse set up and operating. This system didn't just spring into existence, it's a systematic problem within the military mindset. It is the Military itself, at all levels, and all ranks, that condones, encourages, and rewards the abuse of innocent civilians. By failing to address this issue honestly, and with a desire to truly find all those who are responsible, even those who were just "following orders" we succede only in demeaning the principals and ideals of our nation. We succede in demonstrating that our nation is as evil as those we supposedly oppose.

Criminal Court. We duck it and duck it on both sides of the aisle for exactly the the reasons you mention.

How our leaders can live with themselves on this issue is beyond me.
