If he were so darn great......
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 03:57 PM by Bouncy Ball
If you know beyond all human understanding that the person in the White House is the ABSOLUTE RIGHT person to be president, if you know that fact on a supernatural, omnipotent, GOD level, why the need to even debate his positions with doubters?

Why the need to have 95% of the mainstream media push his shit constantly? Why the need to PAY media figures to push his programs if he were so great?

Why the need to have propaganda rammed down people's throats all the time about how GREAT he is?

If the person were truly a great leader, their actions would speak loud and clear on that count. They wouldn't need to hide behind pre-selected, heavily-screened, X-treme Supporters Only audiences!

They wouldn't need to remind us how hard they work--we'd see that.

The actions of the right betray what their words. Their actions say they are bloody terrified of anyone figuring out what a sham their president is, and their words say they are just positive he's the most fine and dandy one ever.

Completely contradictory.

If he were so great, his approval ratings wouldn't be in the crapper. If he were so great, the war in Iraq (which was an immoral undertaking to begin with) would have been quick and bloodless and wonderfully successful!

If he were so great, we wouldn't be drowning in a multi-trillion dollar deficit the likes of which this country has NEVER seen.

If he were so great, our economy would be chugging along full steam ahead, everyone would be able to take their kids to the doctor when they got sick, public education would be fully funded, and no one would work three part-time jobs with no benefits just to feed their kids.

If he were so great, veterans benefits would be wonderful. There'd not be a single vet living under a piece of cardboard down on Vine and 34th.

If he were so great, he'd have already figured out a way to divorce this country from reliance on foreign energy sources.

He'd not have administration officials indicted. He'd have never condoned, much less pushed for, torture and violations of the Geneva Convention!

Hell, if he were so great, he would have taken those very specific warnings about Osama bin Laden using airplanes in an attack on American soil seriously instead of taking off for vacation and dicking around on that pig farm!

Everything about him screams "CAN'T EVEN SEE THE LIGHT FROM GREAT" yet they want us to believe their screaming and invoking God's name that he is?

Sorry. God told me just the other day "I see that mess. And I didn't have ANYTHING to do with it."

2. Egg-zactly.
Guess I coulda just posted that, huh? LOL!

Thanks Richardo. I once had a new boss who introduced herself to the staff by telling us, for TWO HOURS, how hard-working, how responsible, how devoted, how honest she was.

We got more and more nervous the more she tried to convince us. Isn't there also a Mark Twain quote about the main loudly bragging about his honesty while stealing the silverware?

7. That's it, that's a good one.
My UU minister quoted it a few Sundays ago and we laughed. He didn't have to say who he was talking about!

6. Because people just don't understand how great he is
that's why we have to remind them. Constantly

10. But, everyone must understand. If they don't accept him,
then they will not be allowed into heaven. They will not be saved.

And, yes, I am talking about Bush. That's how his supporters see him.

It's like they had some kind of mass lobotomy. They're just pod people, muttering "STRENGTHEN SOCIAL SECURITY!" and "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, YES MASTER YES!"

9. if he were right , would he need to bully and threaten his critics?
It's incredible, that Bush and his minions would need to slap around anyone who doesn't believe he is as nice/sincere/competent as was advertised. Not to mention that this heavy-handedness undermines all those stated traits.
