Something not factored into today's elections - The Cult of Bush
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 12:35 PM by Walt Starr
The CoB demands compliance. The CoB doesn't care what numbers look like. The CoB must get out and vote Republican regardless.

Today, we will see just how effective the brainwashed minions in the Cult of Bush can be.

Hell, I'd say it's the only reason the election is even close in Virginia!

2. Russert mentioned that this morning...
He didn't call it the COB, but it was in the context of his stupid statement that "The Democrats INSIST Bush is unpopular." He went on to say he might not be unpopular with Republicans.

3. that cult has seriously diminished in the past year

Baseline publicly unconditional Bush support is down from 45% to 37% in the past year. So 8% of The People has walked out of the Cult. When another 5-6% have walked away the present GOP breaks down as coalition.

Yep, Virginia was and is a stronghold of the thing. Whether it's still strong enough is the story of this election.

4. Depends on how loyal Rove's technicians are to continuing to "hack the
vote." If they are starting to worry about his contol then they will leave it alone. If they have been told Bush needs this win and it will "save your butt" they will comply in key precincts.

It should be interesting to see how it all works out. And, it's a small enough election that maybe we can get some more data about how the hacking is achieved which will be good for 2006.
