Please help me with some definitions.
I'm really confused. What is a centrist democrat? What is a far-left democrat? What is a centrist republican?

1. Kucinich is far left
He advocates free education through college, and a cabinet level Dept. of Peace. The Clintons are centrist.
Olympia Snowe is a centrist republikan, and she's far outnumbered in Congress by the nutjobs such as Santorum and Delay.

3. Nonsense! Kucinich is NOT 'far' left ... merely left liberal.
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 10:49 PM by TahitiNut
Walt Brown is 'far left.' Even Sharpton, although slightly to the left of Kucinich, isn't 'far' left. The majority of DUers are further left than Kucinich .. and far, far, far further left than Kerry/Clark et. al. Kerry and Clark are nearly indistinguishable from "Eisenhower Republicans." People in this country have almost totally lost perspective regarding the massive shift of establishment politics to the far right. Appalling.

2. There's just far left too
Hugo Chavez, just far left. I'm not sure that there's anybody in US politics who is as far left as Chavez.
