Time to take an oath. I do solemnly swear ...
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 09:29 PM by DURHAM D
I do solemnly swear that I will not participate in discussions, I will not vote in a poll, and I will not call anyone a bad name(I will try anyway)on the DU for the next(2)two years regarding the 2008 Democratic candidates for President as their supporters jockey for position in this forum.

I further swear that I will participate in grassroots organizing, I will actively recruit less involved friends and loved ones through my personal bar and dinner education outreach program , I will donate money to candidates of my choice and other political organizations, I will spend less time in front of a computer and more time at the Democratic county headquarters, and I will closely examine the merits/drawbacks of each and every candidate who comes forward.

I further swear that I will try not to hate those posters who waste screen space on the DU with stupid irrelevant polls.

It is so sworn.

Note: Not on a Bible (I am agnostic) but on my autographed pic of President Clinton.

3. If I'm gonna swear on anything...
It's my copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Or maybe on the Jefferson Bible.

8. To each his own...That's the beauty of democracy and the "ignore" button
You don't have to read, vote or participate in any discussion you choose to avoid. At the same time, those of a mind to speculate endlessly also have the right to do so.

DU is big enough for both.

"Stupid irrelevant polls" I refused to sign the oath. I, for one, need a bit of humour each day. Most of my posts are serious, but I do post silly polls from time to time as a break from the wretched state our country is in.

As far as participating in discussions, I refuse to refrain from them! Participation is grand, regardless of whether other posts agree with my point of view. A forum without participation isn't much of a forum is it?

I do not call people by bad names (at least I hope I haven't)? This doesn't include W does it? LOL

I do think we could all benefit from spending more time campaigning offline - or each taking a day a week or evening a week to visit chat rooms, moderate blogs, etc., to educate the public as to the facts regarding Republicans vs Democrats, Voter Verified Paper Ballots, etc.

So, consider me an unsworn crusader of some but not all of your words?

Edited for a couple ommitted words (yes I know I may have mispelled omitted, whatevah)
