GWB today: Salute troops' sacrifices, go golfing: No visits to wounded?
Today in Columbus Day remarks, GWB saluted the sacrifices of the troops, and others who have sacrificed for their country (in other words, he read remarks prepared by his speechwriters). Then, in keeping with his theme, he visited the wounded at Walter Reed Army Hospital just up the road from the White House. No, wait - I was wrong. He went golfing! That's right, after lauding sacrifice, he went golfing. Has he EVER visited the wounded? Called the families of the dead? VISITED the families of the dead? Hope he shot a good round. The SOB.

1. Not me
If I was a wounded soldier lying in some VA hospital--whose funds Bush cut--that jerk would be the last person I would want to see.

3. Why the military
supports the Repubs and Bush in particular is a mystery to me. They don't serve themelves, they just wave the flag at photo ops and use the military for political purposes. If I had a son who was serving now or, heaven forbid, was wounded or killed, I would be screaming bloody murder.

A good friend of mine was wounded and at WR, and * and Pickles both came to visit and award him his Purple Heart and Bronze Star--- I've seen the pics.

on edit: Looked at the article and corrected what medal it was (Bronze Star, not Bronze V).
