I don't think I have to defend Cindy rant
There was a post earlier that stated Cindy was in Argentina, at the Summit if America's
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/13077557.htm

There were comments that it was a stupid move, it would hurt her politically, O'liely would be calling her names, a bad move to protest the anti=war movement outside the US. She would lose her credibility. Guess she'll be no Rosa Parks.
What is wrong with you, if Cindy is in Argentina, good for her, if half of you people would get up off your dead asses and support other people's and countries problems and get out and protest, maybe we wouldn't be in this fucking mess.
First of all Cindy is not running for any political position, and if she does she'll be wiser for her involvement. And who gives a shit about what O'Riely says, every time his named is mentioned, it gives him more credibility, and why is it necessary to empower that prick.
I don't think any of us here in the safety of DU, can criticize anyone who stands up and speaks from the heart no matter when or where. This brings me to the next statement this US Anti-War Movement. Why does it have to be a US Anti war protest, the whole world is involved, the rest of the world has alot more reason to be involved, hell they could be next.
I know alot of people here are very dedicated and work very hard for a cause, but I have about had it, when I see a women that is doing a terrific dangerous and noble cause, being questioned by a few, because its not PC.
Cindy does not need us to define her cause, and we don't need Cindy to define ours. But it always helps to be there.
Remember people this is one World, and the US is just a tiny speck, and its getting smaller with Bush leading the way.

3. As far as I'm concerned
Cindy can go anywhere she damn well pleases and say whatever she feels like saying. Screw PC.

5. Love the name
The point I am trying to get across is that the whole world is involved, and being PC doesn't benefit anyone. It's time to focus and do what we can. Cindy is fighting to Stop the War.

6. Okay, I'll go with
that. I didn't immediateley rip you a new once because I knew you were riled. Now, I'm a person who worries about Cindy a lot, because I think her message is pure and I hate to see it diluted because it loses it's force. I'm glad she is no in Argentina because that has nothing to do with her boy and the war and folks would say, "Oh, she's just another lefty moonbat" and not pay attention to her.

But in this country, when she addresses that issue..she is unstopable.

Now, this old lady (me) is going to have to sit on this dead ass and not join you in the streets. Not all of us can, you know!

8. She is unstoppable
and I admire everything she is doing, what got me riled was the fact that some one stated, she would be no Rosa Parks. I feel her stepping outside the US, if that is what she wants to do, will just carry her message farther.

10. The Rosa Parks
comparison is just dumb. Of course she is no Rosa Parks, and Rosa was not Cindy. I doubt Rosa would have camped out in a ditch. They each had their own time, fight, unique strength. When I first heard that I had to think..."why do we need to equate two entirely different people?" It cheapens them both.

7. Oh, forgot to mention
I am also not for "supporting other people's and other country's problems." Other people as in my country, sure. But worrying about other people (as in the Iraqis and their need for our kind of freedom and democracy" is what got us into this mess.

I don't care for Pat Buchanan but I think I am a bit of an isolationist. We have so much to fix right here and here is where we should stay. When they show up on our doorstep, we have plenty of fire power to handle the situation. I think 911 should have been dealt with as a criminal event rather than a war, although I didn't weep to see the Taliban go down. But I don't think war has done any good and we sure could use that money right now in N.O.

11. A majority of the World is sympathetic to her cause!
Honestly, Ms. Sheehan is representing all Americans who do NOT support the imperialist policies of our country. I highly doubt she gives two figs if she "marginalizes" herself with those who do.

American politicians, corporate lackeys, ambassadors, esteemed government officials, "news"men, missionaries, military...go overseas daily to represent the real intent of this country and they have "marginalized" our nation, because of it! Those "voices" of America have created this situation in which the common people of the World absolutely despise what our Democracy stands for.

I applaud Cindy Sheehan for standing up for us, trying to show the World that not everyone here is comfortable being mighty, superpowerful pigs, devouring the earth and its people and resources! Her son's life was destroyed, just like the millions and millions of others suffering at the hands of American policies, and she has every right to protest that!

I posted this in that other topic you mentioned, as I was equally flabbergasted. I think someday soon many will regret not declaring

BUSH DOES NOT REPRESENT ME!

I STAND WITH CINDY!

doesn't she, amongst the ugliness of cowards and thieves, murderers and war mongers, and two-faced treasonous liars!

12. If you really think about the time-line, Cindy STARTED this renewed anti
war protest. She made it 'safe' again to talk about being against this war and from there, many, many things have started to roll. They can say whatever they want about her ... she started a movement and they don't like it so they belittle her. I bet, in her day, Rosa Parks was probably made fun of, criticized, etc by the fat, racists repukes of that time. IMO in 20+ years, Cindy Sheehan's name will still come up as a quiet woman who started the ball rolling to end this war.
