Anybody here going to the Clark Meetup?
tonight in KC at Harpos. I am planning on going, but was wondering if anyone could fill me in about what goes on at a meetup. I have never been to one before, having only since the 2000 debacle decided to become active in the political process. Thanks in advance!:hi:

1. I think you'll like it, especially the initiation rituals.
My initiation required going out and plastering Clark bumperstickers on every car at the local RNC headquarters, which I preferred to the normal initiation, which involves some form of corporal punishment, I am told.

19. Now that we're letting everybody in on the initiation secret
They had me ride with the Lesbian Bikers for Clark. We buzzed a Toys 'R Us and a Home Depot in Paramus, then made a beeline for the local VFW, where we raised campaign funds for Wesley by laying down $100 a game at the billiards table.

11. Initiation rituals -- Sounds so military-esque
Gee, Dean Meetups didn't require initiation rituals. We just showed up at the meeting place, introduced ourselves, listened to Dean's video clip, and discussed ways to help spread Dean's name in our communities.

If initiation or hazing rituals are part of the Clark Meetup agenda, I'll never go to a Clark Meetup and will not actively support Clark if he's the nominee.

I oppose initiation and hazing rituals whether they be performed by the military or college fraternities, and I'm proud to say that I was never a member of a college fraternity.

2. The topic at tonight's meeting in NY
They're going to discuss how to answer the anti-Clark "talking points."

By the way, is the Harpo's in KC related to the old Harpo's in Columbia, MO? Harpo's and the Potter's Wheel used to be old hangouts of mine when I was at MU a few million years ago.

6. Long Island for me, too.
At the Northport meet-up? Is that the only one? If so, tell us who you are. I've gone to several Long Island for Clark meetings but no actual Meet-up. The Draft Clark Meet-ups were too far for me to get there after work.

BTW, if you say you're a member of DU, you get to avoid the corporal punishment initiation that BB mentioned. ;-)

9. Im going to a Clark meetup
to enlighten everyone about the false notion that he is anti-war, and the lie that he is an outsider and the lie that he is a liberal.

14. You'll be real popular
Don't count on convincing anyone. The people that buy that stuff tend to be ones that skim the headlines and not the ones that have been following Clark closely.

12. I hope to go in Michigan
I'm a consultant and I travel 4 days a week. So I'm going to be active in Detroit, Michigan (where I work) and Atlanta, Georgia (Where I live).
I'm very excited. I'm purchasing a baby bib from the DU the one that says anyone but shrub in 2004 and my lil 2.5lb Chihuahua is going to wear it as a coat over his sweaters! Anything to get the message out.
Plus he'll be wearing Clark Buttons and Clark Bibs as soon as the Clark Store has'em!
I'm excited. I'm taking the Pooch to the meeting as well. He's a Democrat DOG!

We have so many new volunteers that the main meeting is being postponed until next week so the new people can be welcomed.

The Meet-Ups are both fun and productive.
