ABC News Poll: Bush Sagging to New Lows
The ABC News: Washington Post poll has more bad news for Dumbya. Overall he has a 39% approval rating with 60%--a new high--disapproving. But look at these other numbers:

65% think the economy is in bad shape
68% think the country is on the "wrong track."
55% believe the Bush administration "intentionally" misled the country into war.
Only 40% believe that Bush is "honest and trustworthy."
36% approve of his performance on Iraq
26% approve of how he is handling gas prices
and only 34% believe that Bush "understands the problems" of people like you.

He is sinking.

1. Wow, and furthermore
A striking feature of the president's predicament is the intensity of sentiment against him. Just 20 percent of Americans "strongly" approve of his work in office, the fewest of his career; more than twice as many, 47 percent, strongly disapprove, the most yet seen.

Even in his own party, just under half of Republicans, 49 percent, now strongly approve of Bush's job performance; it was 71 percent at the start of the year — a huge 22-point fall in home-crowd intensity. And it's a similar story among conservatives, another core Bush group: Their strong approval has fallen 14 points this year, to 38 percent.

In another measure of intensity, 25 percent of Americans say they're "angry" with the Bush administration, three times as many as are "pleased" with it.

2. It's barely 2-to-1 ... and should be at least 10-to-1.
Wake me when it's 12-to-0 voting "Guilty" and they're put behind bars for life.

8. Bush's Integrity Is Questioned According to Post-ABC Poll
For the first time in his presidency, a majority of Americans question the integrity of President Bush amid growing concerns about the overall direction of the country that have left Bush with record negative ratings on the economy, Iraq and even the war on terrorism, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

On virtually every key measure of presidential character and performance, the new survey found that Bush has never been less popular with the American people. Currently 39 percent approve of the job he is doing as president, while 60 percent now disapprove of his performance in office -- the highest level of disapproval ever recorded for Bush in Post-ABC polls.

Virtually the only possible bright spot for Bush in the survey was generally favorable, if not quite enthusiastic, early reaction to his latest Supreme Court nominee Samuel A. Alito Jr. Half of Americans say he should be confirmed by the Senate and fewer than a third view him as too conservative, the poll found.

11. Imagine what those numbers would be if . . .
What if Bush wasn't continually propped up by the talking chuckleheads in the media? What if every goof, gaffe, catastrophic decision, meat-headed antic, ham-handed ploy and instance of just plain stinky behavior was reported straight from the media? No administration mouthpieces out there to say someone "misspoke" or excuse their awful behavior, just a straight reporting of the facts? What would his numbers look like then?

The people that are rejecting the corrupt Bush administration are coming to their own conclusions in spite of, not because of, any reporting done by the media.

instead. Remember that? It was sport among journalists, which they admitted after the fact.

16. If it weren't for the Corporate owned media, he never would have been
"elected" the first time. And his poll numbers were in the crapper long before 9/11 and if the media had hounded him like they did Clinton, he would have been toast before he even got out of the gate. But I'm not bitter, no, not at all! :banghead: Personally, he can't possible sink low enough to satisfy me. And those 34% that think Pinhead** "understand the problems' of ordinary people are smoking crack.

20. "sagging" implies an ability to tighten the lines. bull.
we are in a unique point of time in this country's history. we experienced one of the worst events - a takeover from within - in modern times, in other words, an invasion by an anti-American force from within. The letters PNAC mean many things, but simply put, they mean this. They prefer Israel's security to our own. They want to start wars in the Middle East, and reward their own corporations in the process, for personal, not national gain. Their crazy religious beliefs make them believe that they are right and that they are invincible. They have sold their souls and their honesty to two different groups, fundies who predict the end of the world (and these crazies are doing their best to make it happen) and the Israelis who will allow the select 144,000 honored believers up to heaven.

in a word, these people - all of them - are delusional. unfortunately, they are our elected leaders.

Finally, we are fighting back.

21. It's difficult for Bush to come back
unless he does a couple of things--begins to bring the troops home and begins to deal honestly with the problems of the country, and admit that he misled the country. He won't do any of this, of course.

Of course Bush is incapable of listening.
