Strange reversals in political fortune...
Kim Campbell:

Kim Campbell finished in last in the 1986 B.C. Social Credit leadership convention that was won by the corrupt and comically inept Bill Vander Zalm.

She then beat Jean Charest in the 1993 Progressive Conservative leadership race, becoming our first female Prime Minister. (which I thought was cool when I was 10, but in hindsight proves how stupid our P.C. party was during the Mulroney years...Charest is obviously vastly superior to Campbell.)

Jean Charest is obviously far more successful and far more respected than Bill Vander Zalm and his Bible thmumper and Kuomintang buddies are, and was just now elected Premier of Quebec.

We all know how Kim Campbell's story in...She gets her ass kicked in the 1993 election (Not her fault. Blame Mulroney...), gets a cushy job, nice mansion, and younger guy.

Norm Coleman:

Norm Coleman lost to former professional Jesse Ventura by 3 points in the 1998 gubernatorial election.

He then went on to upset Walter Mondale in the Senate race.

I don't think this one needs any further explanation.
