14. No Kidding!
God couldn't bother to tell the Pope -- of all people -- that there was no reason for all that killing?

3. Bush is commander in chief....his job is to know the truth.
That is just talking points. The buck stops in the oval office.

One thing I so resent about Bill Clinton is that he actually defended this war so many times that it almost ties our hands in criticizing it. Then he says stand up and speak out...but he hurt us doing that.

And there's no apparent strategy. I just wish it would stop before we loose one more of our son's and daughters.

13. Bush KNEW Hussein didn't have WMD
but he wasn't trying to hear that. he was trying to find a rationale to start his war. and failing miserably. who the F was fooled by that crap? it was patently transparent BS delivered with a wink AT THE TIME.

of course, i can't PROVE that so i'm just another emotional lefty wackjob.

the pope was really really old & sick. he had no clue.

22. Clinton was getting his intelligence from the same place that everyone....
...has been getting it for the last couple of decades. And that place is the Pentagon, the breeding ground of the earliest of the NeoCons.

The sad truth of the matter is that Saddam was just evil enough that MOST Americans at all levels were ready to believe what a MINORITY of us never believed.

As smart as Clinton was, he could not bring himself to question the WMD intelligence, but he was smart enough to say "no" when the NeoCons tried to convince him to attack Iraq in 1997-1998.

7. Yes, he made an emphatic statement just before the invasion,
saying that it would be a disaster for humanity. And he was right.

18. As I recall, Pope John Paul II told Bush...
...something to the effect of "If you go into Iraq, you go without God."

Apparently, American Fundies weren't listening...

21. Pope John Paul too also called Bush the anti christ.
I never cared much for his stance on choice or gay marriage but I thought the church was against the war and guns in general. Of course they threw me out in 2000 so who knows.

8. Tryng to spin ...
blame on Clinton or the Pope or anyone else just doesn't jibe. Why? because Clinton nor the Pope used "the same intelligence" and started an "illegal" war. Face it, Chimpie and Co. sexed up intelligence--many officials, former & current, in Bushco. have said so--Vanity Fair anyone? The jig is up! America and the rest of the world was lied to.. plain & simple.

15. The old false premise canard
Most countries in the Middle East had and still have WMDs. Hell, we sold them.

Saddam never threatened this country. He was contained. He wanted to stay as dictator and he had no truck with the Muslim fundamentalist.

He was a bulwark against radical muslims in the middle east. We destroyed that bulwark, which geo politically will turn out to be an enormous blunder.

He had no connection to 9/11

The WMD thing was used as a propaganda tool to convince Americans that he might use them on us. It was a lie. It was wrong. It was convenient for the neocons.

Why in the everlovin' fuck are we still arguing a stupid premise for the invasion sold to us by neocons?

17. The bottom line is, where did that major pile of crap originate?....
...The answer is, all roads lead back to the NeoCons buried away in the Pentagon for the last couple of decades. They no longer had the Soviets to deal with, so they invented the next "enemy".
