The big walk outs were supposed to happen today. I stopped by my local World Can't Wait protest for a little while. About 50 people or so. But here in South Florida, what with the exhaustion brought on by Wilma, those numbers may not tell the story.

Anyone else protest today?

1. My wife and I both called in sick
and we kept all the kids out of school, but there were no local gatherings as I live in the shithole redness of Utah.

2. hell yeah
Here in Minneapolis the group I'm in on campus, AWOL, and highschool groups have been organizing the walkout for MONTHS and we invited world can't wait to join with us.

I shoudl stress that the people who came to our walkout were not moblized by World Can't Wait, but by several campus organizations.

I'm bad at estimating crowds, but I'd put it at 500-1000.
