Rush Limbaugh Should Be Given The Same Compassion
that he's given to others over the years and nothing more. He has used prejudicies, biggotry, misogyny, and lying to make himself wealthy and convince a huge segment of the American population to support bad politicians and bad politics. He never lets opposing views be heard on his show, and he has never been fair to anyone.

So, to hell with the "be a bigger person" mentality. Rush is a drug felon. There are millions of Americans doing real hard time because of this country's drug laws. Rush supported these drug laws, and he's never shown any compassion for anyone that's been caught in the system.

In this world, you get what you give.

Quotes

"Here’s the problem with this big talk-show host who turns out to be a prescription- drug junkie. You have a guy who finally stops spinning and fesses up for his actions. Fine. He says he won’t
play the victim. Good. He’s off to rehab. God bless. But what he and his apologists want you to forget is that he broke the law—yes, the L-A-W. Some of us around here still have respect for it.

Folks, this guy didn’t just use drugs, he put another person in harm’s way to feed his own habit. He repeatedly sent his maid out into a parking lot to score thousands of pills. Talk about cowardly.

4. a choice Rush quote (thanx bartcop)
"I know every expert in the world will disagree with me, but I don’t buy into the disease part of it.
The first time you reach for a substance you are making a choice. Every time you go back,
you are making a personal choice. I feel very strongly about that.’...

20. I disagree - Rush was very funny....
I have to admit...I've always considered Rush to be a great humourist...even though it was always at our side's expense...His Clinton parordies were always very funny - Anyone who knows who the Firesign Theatre is...and actually can enjoy them must have a pretty keen sense of humor...IMO

When it comes to Lenny Bruce and Rush...I always used to say "Rush does the same thing that Lenny Bruce used to be regularly arrrested for..."

10. You know, I'm trying to have some compassion for this man...
...and failing badly.

My father listened to him every day for all three hours of his show. I tried to get away, but in a way I was forced to inhale all that toxicity. My father played it loudly wherever he happened to be. People like my father (now deceased) and brother and their senator friend, Rico Oller, bought into that shit because it was what they wanted to hear: that white heterosexual males are somehow superior and more deserving than other folks.

Don't tell me that's not what Rush was saying. He never put it in those words, but when you bash everybody else, it means the same thing, right? He only bashed other white heterosexual men (Clinton) when they didn't agree with his stance on the superiority of white heterosexual men.

I can never get back those three hours a day or the time and effort that went into hiding or finding a safe place where Rush's words couldn't reach me.

Let him do some time.

13. This post is irrelevant...
compassion will have nothing to do with what happens in court. If he's found guilty, he's found guilty.

We should, however, hope that he recovers from his drug problem, because if he can do it, others can. (Though it may seem like Karma, I keep telling myself there's no such thing. No Karma. Well, maybe... no!)

14. Hate the sin but love the sinner
Nah. Hate the sinner, too, is Rush's philosophy, and every true believer should condemn him from here on out and discount any future public comments he may make.

But it is obvious by listening to Rush's apologists that "compassionate conservatism" means being compassionate only to conservatives. They sure are a forgiving sort when one of their hypocritical icons is revealed to be a liar and a fraud.

Here's a site that makes an amusing point on the effect of Rush's admission on the dittoasses; it's as funny as The Onion but more political; it usually has something good every week:

http://www.freepressed.com/

Maybe he hates himself now, or perhaps he has all along. If he didn't, he certainly should have...he's been a big contributor to the coarsening of political commentary over the past 20 years. Only someone completely shameless or completely delusional can spew such vitriol and feel good about himself.

Years ago when he was bashing women I said that I would not want his karma for all the world. I see him as a big, overweight ugly woman, and dirt poor in his next life, and many lifetimes to follow.

Compare JFK problems to what happened with Rush?

First of all Dredge....JFK actually went to war.

second of all , He had Addisons disease
when he took meds for this he did not score from his housemaid in ELEPHANTINE Quantities.
he broke no laws doing said meds

third JFK actually tried to help this country

Mr Sludge I know about Mr Kennedy

Rush Slimeball is NO John Kennedy

and neither are you , you peice of filth
