Bill Frist's Operating Room Rage (WP)
snipped.........

Frist was now sputtering. "This is an affront to me personally. It's an affront to our leadership. It's an affront to the United States of America!" Turning sorrowful, he vowed that "for the next year and a half, I can't trust Senator Reid."

"Mr. Leader," one stunned journalist observed, "I don't remember you being so exercised over something before."

"You've never seen me in heart surgery," the senator, a transplant specialist, replied.

Dr. Frist's patients -- not to mention the Tennessee medical licensing board -- may be surprised to learn that he had operating-room rage. But his reaction to Reid's provocation was predictable.

FOREVER Dr. Catkiller? Isn't THAT an affront to the United States of America? Is THAT Democracy?

*Sound of crickets chirping*

"Reid's provocation"...I'm tired of these damn mediawhores, so we're getting loving puff pieces on the Repuke psycho's and the Democrats are getting slammed AGAIN.

Harry Reid's provoking the poor cry baby Repukes, aw. The WHOLE last 5 years of Junior Repukesville has been ONE BIG provocation.

I hate Frist...but I have to say, cardiovascular surgeons do have a temperment. I do think that neurosurgeons are the worst, but I digress.
I wouldn't pick the weasel as my surgeon, however, heart surgery, especially transplant surgery, is very fast paced and critical.
If one LITTLE thing isn't done correctly, people die.
The tensions are very high when the stakes are high.
I've never seen a doc admit to his theatrics (in or out of the operating theatre) however, these types of outbursts aren't uncommon and wouldn't change my opinion of someone one way or the other.

7. Excellent article, chock full of notable quotes!
Fristy:

"This is an affront to me personally. It's an affront to our leadership. It's an affront to the United States of America!"

(About his anger) "You've never seen me in heart surgery," the senator, a transplant specialist, replied.

(My favorite)

"I've got to go figure out what we need to do."

(and for dessert)
Bond:

"I just ate lunch, and it's upset my stomach."

8. a personal affront?
You're damn right it's a personal affront. Reid has pointed out to you exactly how incompetent, venal, petty, subservient and unfit for your job you actually are. Same goes for the "leadership." As for the American People, maybe you should let them decide just how affronted they are.

13. snipped...
Through the glass door to the chamber, Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) could be seen sitting in the presiding officer's chair, looking puzzled. Reid could be seen sharing a laugh with two colleagues.

As lawmakers raced between the chamber and Frist's office, reporters surrounded Frist chief of staff Eric Ueland. "It was a nonstop rant to build up to a political stunt!" Ueland said of Reid. As he leveled these charges, Ueland turned in a 360-degree circle so that all the journalists could hear him.

"You're spinning!" one of the reporters observed.

16. Once again, the GOP dishes it out . . .
But they can't take it.

Politics ain't beanbag, Dr. Frist, and you have plenty of petty partisan maneuvers to answer for if we want to get into a pissing contest. What are you going to do now, change the Senate's Standing Rules while proclaiming some phony fealty to "tradition" and "following the rules"?

Frist and the rest of them are just so upset because Reid and Durbin exposed them for the blowhard chumps they are. Truth hurts, doesn't it, Frist and the Crybaby Cabal?

I think his surgeon personality came out yesterday. If Senator Reid plays his cards right, we'll see that surgeon personality more and more.
