180 World Can't Wait Demonstrations Across the Country TODAY 11/2/05 World Can't Wait 180 Actions/R...

Today the group World Can't Wait (www.worldcantwait.org ) is launching their movement to drive the Bush Regime from power.

There are about 180 Demos today, From DC and New York to Great Falls, Montana.

For some reason this group has gotten nearly no publicity on DU, and most of my threads sink to the bottom. Maybe now that they have endorsers such as democrats.org, after downing street, and so on, this will get more of a response.

To find the rally closest to you go to http://www.worldcantwait.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=21&Itemid=35

I'll be in Minneapolis, where us college students as well as highschool students have spent months mobilizing for a walkout.

9. We'll be protesting in Madison WI
and you are right--there doesn't seem to be much (if any) discussion about this nationwide protest here on DU.

17. dunno what happened in Dayton, Ohio...
I was at the courthouse at noon and hung around for a while but didn't see anyone at all.
I wasn't going to be "officially" participating but was going to be supportive.

18. My daughter just called from Minneapolis 1:30
where she is attending college. She said at least 1000 just walked past the office where she works as a student (the ROTC Armory). She said it was probably more, but at least 1000. They had posters and upside down flags and were chanting very loudly. She heard Impeach Bush from inside!!

I told her to get her butt out there but she said she couldn't leave.

21. I helped organize the Minneapolis protest
I'm in AWOL, the campus anti-war group.

I'd say 1000 is a damn good estimate. We worked our ass off for this thing, and it was great.

24. She was sitting in Army Headquarters at the Armory
telling me how awesome it was!!! She has an H.R. internship there. Her S.O. is an Army ROTC UMN grad and is in Bhagdad right now (signed up under Bill Clinton, liked Clarke, hates Bush)--comes home in January. No one (of the officers there) said a word about her being excited about the protest. Of course they all know her SO and adore her (and they know she's a liberal.

Great Job seg4527!!! From all accounts your protest was very impressive.

19. The group "World Can't Wait"? This is a communist front group.
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 03:45 PM by LoZoccolo
The Revolutionary Communist Party is behind it, and it's just another route for their recruitment and indoctrination.

22. They're also the only ones organizing protests...
the Korea Truth Commission -- shameless apologists for North Korea -- are on the steering committee of International ANSWER, the group that has produced the largest protests of our time.

It certainly does raise a tricky ethical question, but I think there is room for debate, not just casual dismissal of any group associated with commies.

So what's the deal? If no other group is offering viable alternatives, and if said commie fronts aren't proselytizing at said protest, is it OK to participate?

Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?
