Bill Moyer just made a very interesting point...
NBC aka: Leno, Kennedy-Shriver, Brokaw, NBC et al, helped to elect Ahnold Gov O'Cali ~

For the ratings, demographics, and POXnews-like access to power.

"Curious'r and curious'r..." thought Alice

6. Leno did it for the car tax
Leno collects cars. I think he has about 80 of them. Arnold's election probably saved him several thousand dollars a year.

9. My ex worked down the street from Leno's garage
for 2 decades. Jay frequently stopped to chat, and to give rides on whatever he was playing with that day. The licence fees on his car collection probably exceeds my annual salary.

10. I've seen that car collection, they sit in a warehouse
a spotless warehouse I might add.

He doesn't drive 99% of them, so he doesn't have to register them, ergo, no registration fees at all.

3. Reminds me of the tweety joke on SNL last night...
While talking to Ann Coulter, he said he'd call her a whore but that would be an insult to whores.

Oh those poor colli-fonians. (The ones who didn't vote for the terminator, that is.)

11. And then he told her:
"I can smell your soul rotting from here."
It was great. If only Tweety was really like this.

8. Wow. Of course he is right.
Looks like the networks are going to form the new parties for us, each according to their needs. Arnie is SURELY not a FOX watcher's Republican. More in the old Nixon mode (I guess I could have said Eisenhower, since it's the IMAGE he's projecting and not his actual deeds.)

Wonder who CBS is going to run? Harrison Ford?

12. The problem is that Arnold probably can't do anything about the car
tax. It's an automatic thing that kicked in because the bill was written that way. When Silicon Valley was thriving, the State was collecting so much money on car registrations that the Legislature rolled back the car registration fees.

A provision was written in the bill that if the State needed the money to pay indebtedness, the roll back would be cancelled and the fees would go back to their original amount. Davis didn't increase it and I don't believe Arnold can roll it back without the Legislature approving it. It seems to be an empty campaign promise to me and a convenient claim to trash Davis. I couldn't find any links so I am taking this from the top of my head. If anyone has something to add or correct, please feel free.

It makes sense to me now why Leno promoted Schwarzenegger. I forgot that Maria and he are co-workers. He was probably coerced by GE to this as part of his job.
