All this feels a lot like giving birth to a baby
Giving birth to my second kid was a cinch, because I knew what I should be doing. But with the first one, I'd push a little and his head would poke out, and then I'd relax and he'd slide back in again. Then I'd push a little more, and then I'd relax and he'd slide back.

*Finally* I got the idea that you had to push and not let go, then push again and not let go, then push some more and not let go. And after about 10 minutes of that, I'd brought a kid out into the world.

It feels a lot like that in this country at the moment. We've been pushing against the Bush administration from time to time, but every time we let go again and it slips away from us. Now, at last, we're pushing with one thing after another and never letting go in between.

That's how it has to work.

6. No freakin way! Funny you should say this on my older child's
15th birthday--48 hours of back labor that felt like someone lit an acteyline torch up my ass every 2 minutes to end in a c-section!

NOTHING IS MORE PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

lol-it's all true but I get what you are saying.
