Zero Murders in New Orleans since the Hurricane
New Orleans, once known as the murder capitol of the country, hasn't had a murder since Hurricane Katrina. There is an estimated 150,000 citizens living in the city now with the populaton growing at a very slow rate. Prior to the hurricane the population neared 600,000. Jefferson Parrish, bordering Orleans Parrish has had at least four murders since the hurricane. It is believed drug dealers who left the city due to the hurricane are setting up business in Houston, Dallas and Atlanta.
