1. I put "trepidation" although he's my second choice right now
I just really fear the Dem establishment--which is pulling for him--will go through so many convoluted contortions and manipulations to make him appear centrist he'll come across as as standing for nothing.

There's ntohing wrong with being passionate about your opinions and beliefs--people respect that probably more than ideology.

2. Message to you refusers
If you withhold your vote from the Democratic nominee--no matter who it is--you will forfeit your right to complain about the Bush Administration. I will not listen or take seriously any criticism of the Second Bush Administration that comes from somebody who refused to support the Democratic nominee.

I pledge my support for the Democratic nominee no matter who it is.

"you will forfeit your right to complain"

No, I won't, actually. I don't owe the Democratic party a vote, the Democratic party owes me a nominee I can vote for without vomiting. (In exchange for my vote, that is. I guess if they're willing to go without my vote, they can nominate Bush himself.)

on edit: Added parenthetical clarification.

5. I'll be keeping a list
Once the campaign kicks into gear I'll be keeping a list of names of people who refused to support the Democratic nominee. when they start to complain about Bush II, I will gently remind them of their folly with an "I told you so" (I love doing that) message.

6. I'm on your side, bluestateguy, but...
... your promises to "keep a list" smack of McCarthyism to me.

I don't really think that's the best way to go about things, honestly.

7. My folly?
Your folly, brother. Don't call my candidate unelectable and then proceed to hand the nom to a guy who doesn't get elected.

4. To those who answered this way

I would vote for a 3rd-party candidate (5 votes, 14%) Vote
I would vote for Bush (1 votes, 3%) Vote
I would not vote at all (1 votes, 3%) Vote
Wesley who? (1 votes, 3%) Vote
Undecided (1 votes, 3%)

You can paint this any way you want the reality is you would be

helping elect the idiot son for 4 more very long years these votes could be the difference. I know you can vote any damn way you please but this is truly fucking depressing.

This is not politics as usual this is deadly serious shit.

Not voting for the Dem nominee. I'm sure the people over at Free-republic would like to thank you all in advance.

Well Fortunately I live in Canada.
