I've got a hypothesis, although of course it's no better than any other theory.
One has to assume that the "Motions" which were supposedly filed with the Magistrate Judge, were in fact "Sealed Indictments." Let's say that Fitzgerald has secured an indictment against Libby for some sort of "Outing" or "Conspiracy" charge. He proceeds to dangle that over Libby's head for the next few days, and unless Irving agrees to cooperate and provide more information, Fitzgerald is going to unseal the indictment prior to his arraignment on Thursday. Just a little added pressure on Libby to come clean, before he's in even deeper Doo Doo than he is now.
Let's go further and hypothesize that one of those sealed indictments has rover's name on it. Perhaps an "obstruction" charge....maybe more?
If you really wanted to go into dreamland, you could read something into the visit by Fitzgerald to the president's attorney. Of course, this is something of apparently monumental proportions that would be a constitutional crisis, if somehow Fitzgerald was notifying Shrub's attorney that he was a "target" of the investigation...or even that he might be indicted by that very GJ.
If Libby gets another indictment by the end of this week, there could be some plausability to my scenario. Fitzgerald could then go after rover, and so on and so on.....
