So why isn't Bush's credibility the lead story?
I thought he cared. I thought he said that he would "take care" of anyone who was discovered to have had a part in this story. Why does he keep on his payroll someone who is identified as "official A"? Why didn't he care enough to ask the questions himself in the first place? Isn't Bush's non-role a lead-role in this story?

He didn't ask the questions because he already knew the answers! duh!

And it's fine with him if "official A" stays on and directs future White House Policy. Let him just verify that this is his official policy.

1. Bush's credibility is not the lead story because it is tied to the
credibility of M$M.

to ourselves that we have absolutely no leadership to speak of, that we are free falling through a very dangerous world with no one to guide us or protect us or give a shit whether we live or die.

5. Because he has been set up with incredibly low expectations -
we are living in a very different time - we should not expect any sort of logic that we here would recognize to apply any further. We talk about heads exploding - I think mine has exploded at least 10,000 times since that fateful day in 2000 when the Supremes installed dimwit into the WH. And glimmers of false hope, such as Fitzgerald's masterly performance, don't seem to take because the media is nearly completely lost (Frank Rich, Olbermann, a very few others the only honorable, brave, smart people left in the media).

6. Because it leads to the next biggest story . . . .
the lack of credibility of the media and how they forsaked their responsibility from the election of 2000 forward and still do to this day. If this were not so, the election irregularities of 2004 would be front page.

This is the greatest yet untold story

7. Russert doesn't think so, but this is an important question.
Russert said this morning that the Plame issue is played and that the public is readly to move on to the SCOTUS issue.

12. He hasn't had ANY since the lead up to the war..
His perfidy has been transparent to anyone who cared to look. There is no news there, it is a "given".

13. Every day that those kids are over there fighting, their families
need to believe that they are there for a reason. How else would they cope? I do not think they are ready to believe that Bush lied to them. To do so would mean that they would have to also blame themselves for supporting him. I think it will be a long time before he is painted in his true colors. I think the mass media is afraid to push the issue too far, not because they are afraid of the administration, but rather public perception. Just look at the backlash Cindy Sheehan endured.
