"...unpopular, alone, and adrift."
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2005/10/30/new-yorker-editor_n_9809.html

<snip>
David Remnick, in Comment (p. 37), reports on President Bush's "Hell Week," in which he has witnessed the two thousandth military death in Iraq, the withdrawl of Harriet Miers, and the indictment of a senior member of his Administration, all in the context of rising gas prices, the failure of Social Security reform, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and a pernicious insurgency undermining every moment of progress made in Iraq. Remnick writes, "Bush had been unmasked in all his insularity, arrogance, and executive incompetence.... But the lessons that Bush is likely to derive from the complex of recent disasters will not automatically lead to a more considered, modest, and moderate Presidency." The emboldened attack Bush faced for his nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court came not from the left, but from conservative ideological radicals, "leading members of the true-believing Republican Party." More than three years remain in President Bush's second term, Remnick notes, and, "in his anger, and after all his many failures, the President, quite suddenly, seems unpopular, alone, and adrift."

2. Bush ain't gonna become more moderate.
His short list of SCOTUS nominees can attest to that.

10. I won't call you an asshole.
I feel the same way. I hope every moment of his is dark. I hope the bitch that karma is has decided to lay in on his shit EARLY and is eating him up bit by bit.

But not just him! All of the nasty neoconservatives who sent soldiers to their deaths and ordered the deaths of innocent civilians for nothing.

13. No flames from me, either.
I'm not about hating on his supporters, (well, at least not the reasonably human ones) but the man himself? Brought this on himself. And no matter how mentally impaired he is, the greatest share of responsibility for this mess is on his soul.

8. Oh waah.
The man is NOT alone, he's certaintly NOT adrift-- he's doing what he wanted to do all along. And doing more of it. Unpopular? Not nearly even close to being unpopular enough. He should "unpopular" enough to be indicted, tried and convicted for war crimes just to start with.

9. Oh I LOVE it.
That's exactly what all of those assholes deserve.

This poor country doesn't deserve any of this, but they sure as hell do.

And I hope bush doesn't think things have to get better than this. They don't. They will most likely get worse.

12. Good,
and that is much less than he deserves. I hope things get a lot worse for him, personally, not for the country.

14. With this much stress, he can't stay sober
Watch for the implosion shortly. One well-timed snarky question from a savvy reporter (cue Helen Thomas or David Gregory) should ignite his short fuse and push him over the edge...it'll get more coverage than the "Dean Scream", for sure.

15. I am truly surprised
they haven't found an excuse to ramp up the Homeland Security alert for distraction purposes. As things continue to crumble around W, look for more use of fear by the administrtion.
