Dodd -- "If we just focus on criminality we won't get anywhere."
Sen. Chris Dodd on Fug News Sunday Show says the public needs to know what heppened beyond the issue of legality. Said thinmgs were done which were wrong, regardless of whether or not they were ill;egal.

Seems to be calling for Congressional investigations and clear honest explanations from Cheney.

1. Hopefully he will
Or at least someone will. It's about time the investigations take full swing. Libby was just the first to fall.

4. Very True Lieberman is worthless, But I also feel that Dodd still really
needs to step it up.... The pressure from a senior statesman like Chris Dodd is needed just like how Wieker remained focused in Watergate....

5. banana republicans think "legal" and "moral" are the same
or at least, ought to be.

this is why they want to criminalize anything they think is immoral, like abortion, homosexual activity, adultery (they just haven't gotten around to that one, yet), etc.

conversely, anything they do is moral provided it is legal.

naturally, different rules apply to democrats :sarcasm:

10. Congressional investigations are pointless, since most of them are
unethical criminals knee-deep in the same doings these people are being investigated for.

12. Dodd is not to be trusted.
He has worked to undermine voter verified paper ballots on electronic voting machines. He even lied, saying they would disenfranchise the blind, the same month that a photo of him watching the Avante electronic voting system, with headphones for sight impaired, was being demonstrated, documenting that he knew better. Here he is watching the Avante Vote-Trakker in action -- maybe he missed seeing the woman with the headphones right in front of his eyes: http://www.aitechnology.com/votetrakker2/home.htm.

So why would anyone on the side of democracy in America lie to prevent the people from being able to legitimately audit their elections?

So I think anything this man does is suspect.

For one thing, think about what he's saying here (I'm using your comments since I didn't hear him): "beyond the issue of legality" -- right when we're getting some momentum to catch people who have committed criminal acts by using the criminal justice system. So immediately out of his dark hole he climbs and advocates different direction to go. Sure, Congressional hearings would be great, if the Democrats had any subpoena power, or any power otherwise, but our best shot right now is using the criminal justice system to bring the * cabal down.

13. Here's a quote from the letter Dodd wrote on
March 3, 2004, along with Representative Robert W. Ney (R-Ohio), Representative Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) which was circulated in Congress and to state SOS's during the time that decisions were being made on voting equipment:

"Most importantly, the proposals requiring a voter-verified paper record would force voters with disabilities to go back to using ballots that provide neither privacy nor independence, thereby subverting a hallmark of the HAVA legislation. There must be voter confidence in the accuracy of an electronic tally. However, the current proposals would do nothing to ensure greater trust in vote tabulations but would be guaranteed to impose steep costs on States and localities and introduce new complications into the voting process."

Don't trust anything he does or says. He's not on our side.
