Very often a dying tree looks alright from the outside, even though

on the inside there is a slow cancerous rot eating its way from the center out wards. Once this rot comes to the service the owner of the tree all of sudden sits up and takes notice. The owner then goes over to poke around on the surface of tree to see the extent of the rot. The owner is faced with a couple of decisions.
1. The owner can do nothing and continue and let the rot take over the whole tree to a point that the tree does finally die after a long process and a new tree can be planted in its place.
2. The owner can take immediate action and cut out any part of the rot and give some long over due TLC in hopes that the rest of the tree will be saved.
3. If the rot is so severe and the owner can not stand to look at the tree anymore in its current condition and nothing can be done for the tree. Then there is only one option and that is to chop it completely down and replace it with one that is not infected.
Tree = government controlled by GOP Owner = American people
So I guess we wonder which option the owner is going to choose?
This I edited after original post. PS - Aspens are the largest organism on the planet- in other words a large grove of them acts as one. So if an infection is in one its in the entire organism.
5. Well done. Dovetails nicely with Libby's "out ..west the aspens are
turning....roots connected etc. Our tree is fully rotted; we should choose #3. but if it is decorated each election with flags, plastered with slogans about hating certain people, hanging crosses and bibles and guns, #1. might happen.
