IT seems this is the non sequetir we must deal with in a sizeable chunk of the population. Very primitive reflex in some that keeping Bush in power is somehow the patriotic thing to do.

What say you? How can we slap these people awake?

peace. Wake up honey!!!! If all the rest of the countries of the world dont
agree with Bush and Blair, something must be wrong. Don't you get that?

3. Show them how...
Bush incites terrorism around the world. Show them how our troops are commiting unjust acts and the two nations that we have invaded and devastated, Iraq and Afghanistan, have no peace.

4. If you support Bush, the terrorists win
They didn't find al qaeda, they didn't find Hussein, they didn't find WMD. They can't find their ass with both hands. If you support Bush, the terrorists really will win in ways we truly don't want to imagine. He's not a Republican, he's a Neocon and his Bush Doctrine will be the ruination of this country.

Maybe we need to start asking people if they know there is a Bush Doctrine and if they know what it says????

11. u.s. should focus more on basic education
Edited on Wed Jul-16-03 05:54 PM by daleenyc
how about for once, addressing the cause of terrorism (why people become terrorists) instead of addressing the symptoms of terrorism (the terrorists). bush's response to terrorism is to get rid of terrorists, but he does not know or even want to know what causes people to sign up to become terrorists. the violence will lasts forever as a result of bush's ignorance and arrogance.

then here comes the whammy that most conservatives can't seem to hurdle with sufficient mental logic: "terrorists hate the u.s. because they are jealous of the u.s.", conservatives insist.

let's get one thing straight. the masterminds of most terrorist groups are wealthy individuals. bin laden is a billionaire. and yet, people such as bin laden has devoted themselves and their wealth to terrorism. if bin laden had wanted, he could have made the u.s. his home and lived here in lavish wealth beyond 99.999999...% of most conservative armchair quarterback. why would bin laden ever be jealous of anyone in the u.s.? if anyone should be jealous or envious, it would be that most conservatives would wish they could be as rich as bin laden.

every conservative blabbermouth i've ever encountered will ignore that point above because facts and logic are too overpowering an argument. certainly, there are fundamental reasons why people aspire to become terrorists (and in fact, even bin laden has stated his reasonings in the past). i'm not going to address them here since my post is already a bit long. however, the theory of "jealousy and envy" for freedom and wealth from the likes of bin laden, as most conservatives insist, is so laughable and delusional that i hope the u.s. government will soon renew and double its efforts on the education of the populace.

14. VERY GOOD POINTS. but no one seems to want to take the time
to figure these pieces out. It's like: If they admit the terrorists have a real motivation behind their attacks that have their root in US terror attacks and attacks on the liberty of these Arab people, it would just be too much for these people. A whole cascade of false ideas and faulty premises would come tumbling down.

It's sort of like an alcoholic coming to grips with themselves and their abuse of themselves and others. It can be devastating.

It's certainly been quite a journey for me going from the land of Abe Lincoln, Betsy Ross, and Daniel Boone to the reality of what this country was, is, and will become.

13. Schlessinger almost said this on McNeil Lehrer.
He said Democrats should not be questioning Bush's credibility. The sneaky bastard kept calling Secretary Albright, Mrs. Albright. Gwen Ifel said Bush quoting Albright. Albright replied, "sure when it suits them to do so".
