MalAdministration Exit Strategy Timetable?
Objective: minimize political fallout & reclaim "honor"

1. Next coupla weeks - Libby arraigned & trial date set.

2. Before Thanksgiving - Cheney resigns due to health concerns. Hez damaged goods anyway. Repubz get jump on 2008 nominee. Removes pressure of largest target in WH.

3. Before Christmas - * reorganizes malAdministration ostensibly as second term retooling and response to Cheney resignation, firing all other potential targets in the process.

4. Jan 1,2006 - * announces phased pull-out of most military forces in Iraq due to successful Dec 2005 elections thus minimizing pre-war rationale debate.

5. Until Libby trial date - malAdministration continues posture of silence - "Cannot discuss pending litigation." - "No longer administration issue."

6. Libby trial begins - Scooter rolls over, pleads guilty & goes to jail. MalAdministration response: "Justice done."

7. Election nite 2008 - * pardons Libby.

Any others indicted follow same path as Libby pleading guilty in time to be sentenced before election nite 2008.

Ten weeks of maneuvering then clear sailing fer the malAdministration? ...unless of course Fritz goes thermonewquelar and indicts *.

1. Sounds about right.......
but I'm not sure about any "timetable" for leaving Iraq. They don't want to leave, they fought a war for that oil and they'll be damned if they're going to give it back to a bunch of "savage Iraqis". The civil war in Iraq is only really starting to heat up now, we'll never leave while that's raging on and on. I say we're stuck there for quite some time yet. The rest of your scenario seems about right though. We'll never see Libby going to trial, too many dark secrets could emerge and that's the last thing they want.

2. Surely announced pullout will...
be scaled down later due to hiccups in Iraqi forces.

I don't see Libby pleading guilty. Libby doesn't have to plead guilty to be pardoned. He doesn't have to be convicted either. Ford pardoned Nixon with nothing finalized.

I love #2 but I think it will take a bit longer. May be even after 2006 elections.

#5 is dead on. Are you sure you are not on the Chimp's strategy team?

5. The plea is to bypass the ugly trial.
I don't think they can wait a year to lance this boil. Repub candidates are already taking a beating in recent weeks; see polls for current gubernatorial races. Cheneyz gotta go.

8. Day after election day 2008 - Libby awarded Medal of Freedom.
