If Bush would let it be known to Libby that he would receive a pardon

or even be considered for one (even if indirectly) would that constitute 'Obstruction of Justice' by the President ?

It seems that it would be encouraging Libby to not cooperate or even not tell the truth because he would ultimately not have to receive any punishment.

If that would be Conspiracy, then hopefully Junior could get nailed on a charge.

7. Without trying to geek people up about this, I'd like to say...
this whole investigation seems to be very, very serious and potentially damaging to the WH. I wouldn't like to be in George's shoes tonight.

10. Yes...
but, a lot will depend on how much squeezing Scooter can take. I also wonder about Rove and what kind of a deal he did. George better hope Karl hasn't been wearing a wire these last couple of weeks.

2. Legal mumbo-jumbo is useless for MBA president
Bush can - and will - do whatever he wants. And with a Republican Congress, he will get away with it too.

3. Libby is too hot of a potato for chimp to be handling right now
He has been left out in the cold.I don't think that the wh has any strategy anymore, and most certainly about what to do to cover up all the bad shit about the run up to the Iraq invasion.

The Iraq adventure was based on total success - the theory that all the Iraqis would go along with the occupation willingly, like the Kurds have, and by the time any questions came up about WMD they would have planted some, or exaggerated a small stash into the "big one". As Iraq gets worse, the more people become interested in exploring the details of the run up, and the worse it gets for bush.

9. Probably an understanding
within the inner cabal, possibly dating back to 2000 or before: "If any of us gets nailed by the law he'll get a pardon eventually."

Which emboldens them to do absolutely anything to get what they want without fear of the law or anything else.
