Lawrence O'Donnell, Countdown: "Every day Karl Rove goes to work...
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 07:20 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
...in the White House, from this point forward, is a problem politically."

He said that even though Rove and the White House are breathing a sigh of relief, it would have been better if he'd been "nicked" with an indictment so the White House "could have gotten rid of BOTH of them on the same day."

Interesting theory, because I believe that MANY people feel that Rove has a stake in this, and he's now added stool pigeon to his resume.

1. he's now added stool pigeon to his resume.
I thought that is why Shrub's dad fired him way back when?

You can take the scum out of the toilet, but you can't take the toilet out of the scum. Or something similarly vile that actually makes sense. :D

4. Yeah, I forgot about that...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Rove

"Sources close to the former president George H.W. Bush say Rove was fired from the 1992 Bush presidential campaign after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief and Bush loyalist Robert Mosbacher Jr. It was smoked out, and he was summarily ousted" (Esquire Magazine, January 2003). Robert Novak provided some evidence of motive in his column describing the firing of Mosbacher by former Senator Phil Gramm: "Also attending the session was political consultant Karl Rove, who had been shoved aside by Mosbacher." Novak and Rove deny that Rove was the leaker, but Mosbacher maintains that "Rove is the only one with a motive to leak this. We let him go. I still believe he did it." <19> (Sources: "Karl and Bob: a leaky history," Houston Chronicle, Nov. 7, 2003; "Genius," Texas Monthly, March 2003, p. 82; "Why Are These Men Laughing," Esquire, January 2003.)

2. Fitzmas: the gift that keeps on giving :)
There was also some lovely talk earlier about how bad this really is for the administration, even if it turns out to only be Libby who is indicted.

Think: TRIAL.

Think: Cheyney and Rove testifying under oath.

6. O'Donnell also mentioned that...
"Rove and Cheney under oath"...

Bush can smirk NOW, but he won't be smirking when the trial starts.

3. What was it that Rove's attorney gave to Fitzgerald.....
that gave him pause to think about a while? It must be something big since Fitz was all setup to have Rove indicted.

5. A bought and paid for witness, that must be debunked before indicting Rove
Last Thursday, or yesterday.

As a result, the DeLay in Rove being politically suicided.

10. Very interesting!!!!!

and, indeed, this must be one of the biggest problems in investigating the administration: those who are bought and paid for.

7. The West Wing is full of stool pigeons.
But nobody knows who are the others, aside from Rove. Rove is the one STILL in legal joepardy. This is hilarious!

The White House now has this come up everyday, in the press briefings, all political initiatives and with republican candidates while Rove still works there. It's a beautiful thing. ;)

9. How agonizing.
Can you imagine what it will be like for Rove in having to go to work under that cloud? It sucks to be him.

15. The White House is not the fun house right now
I heard somebody talking about what the White House must be like now.

If you're in a meeting and someone is taking notes, you wonder if they're getting ready to snitch.

As much lying and trashing as they have all done, you could probably cut the paranoia with a knife.

16. It's interesting that there's nothing stopping B** from firing them.
Except that we've all been trained to expect dishonesty and treachery, so, we don't ever expect him to do anything that the law cannot force him to do.

Like, his job.
