Page 130, of "Winning Modern Wars"
General Clark (the last American to actually WIN a war said):

"As I went back through the Pentagon in November 2001...this was being discussed as a five-year campaign plan, he said, and there were a total of seven countries, begining with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Lybia, Iran, Somalia, and Sudan. So, I thought, that is what they meant when they talk about "draining the swamp". ...I moved the conversation away, for this was not something I wanted to hear. And it was not something I wanted to see moving forward, either."

I think he should have been president - I would have joyfully settled for Howard Dean, though. They GOT IT. This is so F - king serious right now.

I do not know a single numbers person that really believe Bush won the 2004 election, not one. Let alone the 2000 election. I have this naive belief, though. That justice is a real concept and Karma is a real concept.

And that America really is the guiding light for the world. It was, until recently. And I think some gamesmanship with elections has had a lot to do with that result, so far. I believe in America, though.

But, KARMA really is a bitch, I think, and I think Mr "W" is about to find out that FACT of life.

We are a "tar and feather" nation - I think "W" is about to find that out, in the hardest way. Dear God, I hope so.

By-the-way, It was Babbcock (spelling?). Grant's administration - Indicted for fraud. Agnew pleaded for tax evasion. Haldeman and Ehrlichmen were after-the-fact. It will be a first, the indictment that should be coming - since the 19th century.

A forensic exit poll, at this point, I wonder just how much that bastard loses by???

It was treason, it just was. I do NOT like Nixon and I am not warm and fuzzy with Reagan - but I would NEVER accuse them of TREASON.

Gonna be a hell of a week.

I am a liberal person - I DO invite conserative think, I just do, makes ME think. I like any thinking. But these guys didn't think - they just screwed us. There is one fact - the two groups most against this stupid war do agree on - "True Liberals and True Conservatives" and it is a fact - 'CAUSE WE DO AGREE. It was the WORST strategic mistake is our countries history.

We may all live to see just how this comes out, but the truth is, the only people that truly know war have passed now - our parents and grandparents have passed now. This vote should be in their hands.

Agreed or not, I would trust their decision here. Totally.

I think we are in deep shit right now. I belive in God. And I do not think our parents and grandparents would leave us in such a total mess. Faith, maybe, but I think there is a God and I think there is Karma. Maybe, we are just being tested.

J

1. Yeah that quote makes the rounds from time to time...
There is NO ONE in our party with a better understanding of international relations and world history than Wes Clark. Not just world history, but how events that have shaped the world from the beginning of time, have an effect today. The man is brilliant.

2. I like this quote from you!
"I have this naive belief, though. That justice is a real concept and Karma is a real concept."

I agree with what you're saying, but it's been said better before. How about this:

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always." --Mahatma Gandhi

Peace!

3. It is good.
I think we do have a good chance here.

Most of us do believe in ethics and right from wrong. Repugs or Dems, because that is the way we were brought up.

I have so much faith in our country. These thugs go down, right now.
