Please tell me I'm wrong....
But, based on history, I'm skeptical that any of these possible indictments will materialize. The whole CIA Leak will just fade away like all the other scandals surrounding this White House. What if, for example, Friday comes and the news dump is "no indictments" on CIA leak case.

Perhaps I'm being a pessimist here. I really hope I'm wrong. But to be honest.. I'm not getting my hopes up any more.

1. They'd have to kill Fitzgerald for that to happen.
Or do you think he is in the tank?

3. I can see that
Fitzgerald run over by a bus on the way to the courthouse. They could arrange that.

11. At this point, to harm Fitzgerald would accomplish 2 things:
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 01:37 PM by Straight Shooter
1 - It would incite major outrage and suspicion, especially in light of the Abramoff scandal tied to the gangland slaying

2 - Ten people would step forward to take his place. You can bet your life that Fitzgerald has everything documented and ready to turn over to someone else in the event something should happen to him. He isn't paranoid. He is prudent.

17. Absolutely. As someone wrote the web site is the film equivalent of
if anything happens to me someone has the key to the safe deposit box.

12. Only on TV...
You're telling me a seasoned prosecutors can't get half the jurors on a DC jury to indict some republicans?

I could get that grand jury to do that.

13. I believe that those jurors are going to weigh the evidence fairly...
whether the potential indictees are Republicans or Democrats? Don't you think that?

7. Based on WH press conferences
where McClellan dodges questions based on 'not commenting on ongoing investigations', I believe that Fitzgerald is conducting a 'continuous' investigation that will never conclude for the purpose of Scotty never having to answer another pesky damn WH reporter's intrusive questions.

6. Hangin there DJ
I've been simmering about the Plame outing since the summer of 03. Its been more than two years and I can wait a little longer. Any info coming from Fitzgerald won't fade away if we don't let it fade away. Actually there is alot to be happy for this holiday season.

- Fitzgerald's report
- delay's upcoming trial
- abrahamoff and God knows what bad news that will cause republicans
- and the ever popular bill frist and his lies that will bite him severely.

And knowing how dishonest, unscrupulous and totally lacking in morals the gop is, who knows that the New Year will bring us.

8. Why did Fitzy start up that website then, one week before
the end of his years-long assignment to this matter? It seems that because of the end of the Special Prosecutor law, one upshot is that he can't issue a "Report" like Starr did.

That website convinced me.

Probably wise to not get hopes up, but I don't think this will just fade away.

One of the BEST things about this case is that NO ONE knows what's going to happen. Not even the WH. ;-)

14. I agree, especially when there are so many BILLIONS involved.
or should I say TRILLIONS.

It's amazing what can be swept under the rug when
so much money is involved.

18. Fitzgerald's character gives me hope.
It's been pointed out to those who are getting their hopes up that the grand jury -- not Fitzgerald -- determines the indictments, but one factor stands out to me: That this grand jury has got to be impressed with Fitzgerald's ethics & work habits. After observing this hard-working, thorough prosecutor for two years, how could this grand jury throw his case out the window? I'm not a lawyer; I'm relying on my common sense.

My common sense tells me that crimes have been committed & everything I've read about Fitzgerald tells me the right man is on the job.

"He will decide the case based on merits."

"He's not motivated by anything but what do the facts show & what’s the right thing to do."

Using common sense, what is the right thing to do? We've read a lot of the facts, but Fitzgerald has much more information. And damning enough for a federal judge to change his mind about letting Judy Miller off the hook.

There's a slight possibility that the optimists may be proven wrong, but I choose to keep on hoping.
