Joe Wilson was different from every other person Rove tried to screw over

He fought back! Rove has been fucking over his political opponents for years. Why should Joe Wilson deserve to be any different? The gall of Wilson to write to the NYTimes, rather than putting his tail between his legs and scurrying off. In their zeal to get Mr. Wilson, they inadvertently brought his wife into the game. Unfortunately for them, his wife was undercover CIA. They crossed the line. And then they begn to cover up. And wherever they went, Mr. Fitzgerald was there. He was on their tracks.

By the time they realized it was serious business, it was too late. Mr Fitzgerald had his traps set and his powder dry. Then they tried to backtrack. Notes that had been previously undiscovered started turning up. Panic set in amongst some of them. They jumped ship and joined Mr Fitzgerald in an attempt to save their own asses. The trail got warmer and warmer. As he got to the top of the mountain, there stood Dick Cheney, hiding behind a tree.

Wilson into the game, they knew exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it. They knew it was serious (or they wouldn't have done it), but they thought they'd get away with it.

you are correct. I could never understand how going after his wife was getting back at Mr Wilson? I've thought that it may have come out because of their carelessness and arrogance.
