After how cavalierly he manipulated the country into a war that's killed 2,000 of our young people, would one eldery woman make a difference to him?

82. Yes, it is completely a coincidence.
She died the day before the anniversary of Wellstone's death. Coincidence. If she had died tomorrow, the day after Wellstone's death. Coincidence. And guess what, even she had died today, on the actual anniversary of Wellstone's death...it would be nothing more than a coincidence.

But if you think otherwise, please elaborate. How did "they" pull it off. Was it Mr. Mustard in the Conservatory with the candlestick?

Much as I think these jerks will stop at nothing, it's not really in line with their usual M.O. I expect increasing terralerts or even a terra attack. I expect dead blondes. I expect some kind of flap over nudity on TV. I don't expect them to bump off somebody they don't think anybody is interested in.

71. Sorry, but I don't understand one part of your comment...
Why do you say that Rosa Parks is "somebody they don't think anybody is interested in.?" That would mean that they don't consider a large number of liberal Americans who know who she is and who DO care what happened to her. Perhaps the GOPS and the skinheads and Neonazis and nuevo-segregationists don't care but at least 30-40% of Americans are impressed with her historical record. Ice Cube, notwithstanding.

106. I mean somebody "THEY DON'T THINK" anybody cares about
at least, nobody they care about, cares about Rosa Parks. Their base is the skinheads, neonazis, and segregationists. When they want to distract the public, they know smart people and decent people aren't so easily distracted. They really only need to distract their idiotic and vile base, so they will use stuff their base finds interesting: monster trucks, dead blondes, etc.

What gets me is that this administration is so evil, devious and manipulative...that people automatically 'go there' when something bad happens. THAT is a sad comment on our country right now.

28. Famous people are always dying
Just about every week somebody famous dies. Rosa Parks was 92 years old - are you really surprised? It isn't like America is captivated by the death of Rosa Parks; it certainly won't take attention away from the indictments when they are handed out. If Rove wanted to create a true diversion for the public and media he would have killed Brittney Spears - not Rosa Parks.

Aside from the ludicrous nature of your assertion, it wouldn't make logical sense. If you want to divert attention away from bad news, you wait until after the bad news is announced. Otherwise the bad news ends up stepping on your diversion.

72. Reagan, quite possibly. Rosa Parks, no.
I doubt Chimpy even has a clue who she was.

Huh... some colored lady who didn't want to sit down on a bus? Yeah, so what's the big deal about that? Unless she was a terraist or somethin'

74. Hummmm...I wonder...she was in good health.
It's possible someone poisoned her..

I don't really know, but someone should investigate her death with due diligence.

75. She was not in good health, and was suffering from dementia
Her family and others were involved in a bitter battle to control her estate prior to her death. I don't know all the legal complexities, but it seemed like a situation in which the family was in over it's head in trying to manage her money. Former Mayor Archer stepped in to assist her, because the situation had gotten very bad recently, and the apartment complex was about to evict her for unpaid rent (they backed off after the media got hold of the story). She'd been living in the very high-rent, highly secure Riverfront Towers apartments after someone broke into her house and mugged her. Coleman Young helped her get into the expensive apartment for her safety and just for the sake of helping a grand old lady out (he lived there from the time he retired until his death, and usually there are at least one or two local celebrities/hockey players living there-it's next to Joe Louis Arena). It was her family that sued the musical group for using her name, not her, because she was not competent at that time.

It's actually kind of a very sad story, from a family perspective, but a happy one from a community perspective, because the community rallied around her in her final years.

77. She has not been in good health for over two years. The last
couple of months were touch and go...any day. As a matter of fact, here (Detroit) on the news last week they were talking about the end being near. We need to not spread rumors. :hi:

100. Unfortunately I think it spreads via brain vacuum.
Whenever people with too much empty cranial space inhale, it creates a vacuum, which allows paranoid conspiracy cooties to be sucked in to the cavity, which then infects their underdeveloped brains.

78. While the timing of her death may be inconvenient to some
I think she was very old and weak, and I'm glad that she is no longer suffering. If it were not for her death, the MSM would just have something else in that story's place, i.e. Janet Jackson's secret love child or something. So don't think that the news of her death is somehow putting a damper on traitorgate.

101. Not funny
I'm sure you are not serious, and maybe you thought it was a bit funny to post this, but I think it's a little demeaning to the memory of a courageous woman who stood up for herself and by doing so, stood up for all African Americans who came before her, and will come after. The weight of her actions and her place in our country's history are just too monumental to trivialize with a post like this, especially so soon after her passing. IMHO anyway.
