Was that MSNBC shot of Fitz
going into the courtroom a LIVE shot?

If so, I think it's truly FITZMAS DAY!

3. My understanding is the GJ meets tomorrow.
Don't think they're there today. So I doubt this will be Fitzmas Day. I'm so tired of waiting. :(

4. But do indictments have to come on a day they meet?

My assumption was that they could come ANYTIME - maybe I'm wrong...

6. the grand jury has to vote wether to indict or not and if they vote yes
Fitzgerald and them go into a court room in front of a charge and he reads off the charges.

9. Thanks for info - also

speculating, but couldn't a grand jury be summoned on an "off" day if deemed necessary?

17. I could be wrong. More recent info seems to indicate they aren't meeting.

8. David Shuster did a live report less then 30 minutes ago and he said
Edited on Tue Oct-25-05 09:28 AM by Pirate Smile
the GJ was not meeting - or hadn't been seen.

edit to add - I don't necessarily believe the press knows what Fitz is doing so

10. The only way there will be indictments today will be if Fitz is in D.C.
and even then , he could be in D.C. a day early.

12. But the leaks and the last minute position will be obvious to us.
Indictments inside the White House will surely lead to resignations.

I believe that Fitzgerald will show respect to the White House and warn all the targets. This enabling a smooth transfer of responsibilities and allowing for minimizing of the interference the indictments cause to the functioning of the WH.

BUT, the lawyers involved will have tremendous incentive at that point to have their clients sell out the other conspirators.

As a consequence I think there will be leaks, rumors of leaks, and outright accusations thrown among the targets thrown to the media.

13. The GJ would have to meet
Unless the indictments were laid out on Friday and it was kept under wraps since then which is unlikely. The GJ is due to meet tomorrow, unless Fitz calls for a special session. But I don't think anything can happen today unless the GJ meets and we would know about that.

18. My point is, even if the GJ is meeting (and we don't know about it)
nothing will happen unless Fitzgerald is in D.C.

19. Do we know where he is? Is he in Chicago?
Doesn't he normally announce indictments on his website - now he has the new one just for this case?
