Will the hawks create a bloodbath in Iraq to save face here?

They are now finally being questioned about the rush to war and the lack of post shock and awe strategy. Americans are concerned about our losses but don't seem concerned about Iraqi casualties. Color me cynical but I don't forecast peace in the long term. I think they will ratchet up force to save face regardless of civilian casualties?

2. They seem to have painted themselves into a pretty tight corner.

If they escalate (god I hate that word) they run the risk of having the whole thing blow=up in their faces. If they back out - they're wimps. If they stay the course - quagmire. If they are really ruthless and insane enough to want power regardless of the consequences, then yes, they will blow-up the world and figure out a way to say, "told ya' so!"
